Lifting the barrel

This cartoon is wrong and stupid in too many ways to list, but it’s typical of how anti-choice pinheads really think:

dumb-fucking-wanker2

Just one more reason why they’re not to be engaged, they are just to be mocked:  because they really are so cataclysmically feeble-minded that they can’t even begin to understand the concept of the word “choice”.

I think I just figured out something about this cartoon: it’s supposed to be the FETUS that’s saying “Couldn’t you just waterboard me,” not the woman. Nevertheless, the dazed look on the woman’s face still suggests that she really has no idea where she is or what’s going on.

  2. 2 deBeauxOs Friday, January 30, 2009 at 8:57 am

Yes, that is exactly how they think, fabricate, obfuscate, slander, vilify and hyperbolize.

No sense of irony – it’s implied that the resources allocated to gitmo have been re-purposed to force – to force – women to have abortions in the last week of their pregnancy? Puh -leeze.

  3. 3 Joe Agnost Friday, January 30, 2009 at 9:02 am

I know this isn’t the reaction very many people will have… but… I laughed out loud at this! It’s so ludicrous! It’s outrageous! It’s so typical of the anti-choice zealots!

You really can’t teach that kind of stupid – you have to be born with it….

  4. 4 Chet Scoville Friday, January 30, 2009 at 9:03 am

You really can’t teach that kind of stupid

True, but you can’t fix it either. And that’s just depressing.

  5. 5 Mike Friday, January 30, 2009 at 9:26 am

Wow, not a little bit of Racism either…veiled “black men going after poor deluded white women” element to it either…

    Wow.

    These people are truly scum.

  6. 6 deBeauxOs Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:04 am

Glen McCoy’s caricatures are also notoriously based on racist, misogynist, rightwingnutter, islamophobic, fundamentalist religious views. He’s the Rush Limbaugh of political cartoonists.

  7. 7 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:05 am

Chet – You’re observant, for some reason I missed that. That makes it all the more loathsome — the fetus is sentient and talking and knows what’s going on, but the mother is spaced out and being pushed around like a sack of potatoes.

  8. 8 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:06 am

deBeauxOs – Oh yeah, this cartoon is wrong in about 100 different ways. But it is how they think.

  9. 9 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:10 am

Joe Agnost – I had to laugh also, for the same reasons. It’s just so outrageously stupid and wrong. Unfortunately, it’s exactly how they think. Which is why, other than calling bullshit once in awhile, it’s a total waste of time to engage them. I comment over at SUZANNE’s place to call her on her bullshit, not to engage her in any kind of meaningful discussion. There’s no point.

  10. 10 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:11 am

    Chet

True, but you can’t fix it either. And that’s just depressing.

That’s why they should be ignored, except to laugh, point and call bullshit.

  11. 11 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:15 am

Mike – Oh yeah, overt racism — the bad black man forcing his will (as if Obama wants women to have more abortions) on the poor little white girl. This is like 50′s stuff… disgusting and putrid!

  12. 12 brebis noire Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:15 am

“I comment over at SUZANNE’s place to call her on her bullshit, not to engage her in any kind of meaningful discussion. There’s no point.”

I am still beating my head against that wall. There’s part of me that’s still thinking “surely, surely, she will understand this!”
Once in a while she acknowledge that her arguments are bullshit, such as when she allowed that biology does not teach morality.

  13. 13 brebis noire Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:16 am

Forgot to comment on the cartoon – the woman is like…9 months pregnant in that image. Nice.

    deBeauxOs

He’s the Rush Limbaugh of political cartoonists.

The real face of the GOP. I hope they keep this shit up, and I hope people like this asshole and Limbaugh continue to be their mouthpieces. The idiotic minority who takes these people seriously will just find themselves more and more marginalized…

  15. 15 J. A. Baker Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:20 am

Shorter Glen McCoy: “Fetuses are more intelligent than those damn ambulatory incubators that bear them!”

  16. 16 J. A. Baker Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:22 am

The idiotic minority who takes these people seriously will just find themselves more and more marginalized…

At which point, they’ll start going the Eric Rudolph route that their rhetoric leaves them naturally inclined towards…

  17. 17 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:22 am

brebis – It’s pointless to try and have an actual discussion with SUZANNE — she doesn’t blog for discussion, she blogs to propagandize. That’s why she says the same things, over and over, the same talking points, repeated ad nauseum.

But when she says bullshit like “Feminists like abortion”, I can’t resist calling her on it :P She pulls stuff right out of her ass like that, she needs to be challenged to prove it.

Oh yeah, the cartoon — the 9-month pregnancy, just one of many ways it’s wrong and stupid.

  18. 18 J. A. Baker Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:23 am

JJ, did you see her latest rant? She blames feminists (who else?) for cybersex!

They might not be so inclined if more of us shot back 8)

JJ, did you see her latest rant? She blames feminists (who else?) for cybersex!

She blames feminists for everything except the weather, so that doesn’t surprise me. SUZANNE lives in a 50s fantasy land.

“I comment over at SUZANNE’s place to call her on her bullshit”

I wonder how suzzie all-caps is doing. I miss her (sigh)…. NOT!

I called “Ken” (one of her pet commenters) ‘in-the-closet’ one too many times… the guy is SO obsessed with all things homosexual – did you know that public schools are ACTIVELY making kids homosexual? It’s their mandate! (according to ken).

Anyway – Suzzie banned me about a month ago and I won’t give her the satisfaction of reading her blog if I can’t comment on it’s insanity. I no longer visit BBW. She didn’t say ~why~ I was banned but it was around the time I was calling Ken on his sexuality so that’s my guess.

  22. 22 Dr. Prole Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11:11 am

Feminists blamed for cybersex? What happened, did she find out her old man left a trail of dirty talk on the internets?

  23. 23 Joe Agnost Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11:16 am

Oh – and here’s an excellent article on why contraceptives save money and prevents abortion.

This is obvious to most (thinking) people – but there are still people out there (cough)suzzie-all-caps(cough) who think the contraceptive “mentality” causes increased sexual activity.

  24. 24 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11:19 am

Joe – You got BANNED from BBW?? That’s hilarious  I’m surprised she’d ban you just over that… I’ve made similar suggestions wrt KEN’s obsession with monitoring gay pride parades, but never got banned. (I did suggest that there was nothing wrong with Ken that a little rough trade wouldn’t cure, and that one got censored.)

BANNED! It’s not easy being an Outlaw Commenter.

  25. 25 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11:20 am

Dr.Prole – He must have forgot to clear the cookies ;)

  26. 26 Joe Agnost Friday, January 30, 2009 at 12:13 pm

I just went to Ken’s blog (http://ruralrite.blogspot.com/) and it’s off the charts INSANE!

I can’t comment there either (you need an account)… sigh.

His latest post is from a male teacher writing about all of the evils that women/girls are doing in public schools. It reads like a list of lies – unbelievable stories, just totally NOT believable.

What a sick world these people live in!

  27. 27 Bruce Friday, January 30, 2009 at 1:26 pm

For some strange reason every time I hear the word choice I think of doughnuts now, Hmmmmm

  28. 28 Calgal Friday, January 30, 2009 at 5:56 pm

And here’s the biggest pinhead in Calgary, courtesy of the (Catholic) Herald.

    http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/torturing+terrorists+wrong+babies/1235075/story.html

She used to write for some American supermarket tabloid, hence the hysteria, disregard for the truth, lack of competent research, and willingness to mislead.

  29. 29 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 6:00 pm

Calgal – Thanks for the link.

Yep, this is how they LIE. Continually.

FOCA only protects early term abortion rights, so it has nothing to do with the mythical aborting of full-term fetuses.

They never stop lying, do they?

  30. 30 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 6:01 pm

Bruce – Not just doughnuts, but KRISPY KREME doughnuts 8)

  31. 31 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 6:05 pm

Joe – You went to Ken’s little septic tank on the web? Oh no.

It’s pretty weird, isn’t it? I think Ken has problems. Nothing says “good mental health” like typing anti-abortion and anti-gay screeds with one hand, while fondling a bible with the other. (Hey, that’s just what he told me when I asked him what he had in his other hand!)

  32. 32 J. A. Baker Friday, January 30, 2009 at 9:06 pm

Is that what he calls it? Funny, I’ve never seen a Bible that looked like a stack of (American) dimes.

  33. 34 Frank Frink Friday, January 30, 2009 at 9:46 pm

Calgirl, now isn’t that a ‘special’ coincidence in your link. The same waterboarding analogy as in McCoy’s cartoon. You could swear it’s a talking point.

Oh, btw, I don’t believe in coincidences. ;-)

  34. 35 Frank Frink Friday, January 30, 2009 at 9:49 pm

JJ, where he says ‘Country Sage’ he is talking about some sort of herb, right? ;-)

  35. 36 Frank Frink Friday, January 30, 2009 at 9:50 pm

err.. sorry, two comments up. I meant Calgal.

  36. 37 JJ Friday, January 30, 2009 at 9:57 pm

FF – Yes, expect to hear a lot more of the same from the wingnut gallery.

  37. 38 deBeauxOs Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:22 pm

urgh. Naomi Lakritz. Yes, she is a notorious reactionary ideologue and abortion criminalizer.

Oh, it’s THAT sack of shit. Oh oh oh… NOW I remember her. What a self-righteous puke.

  39. 40 mouthyorange Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 4:06 am

I don’t read Suzy Kneecaps much because I don’t think I could stomach it, but from you guys’ reports I get the sense that she protesteth about feminism so much that she must have a repressed feminist inside her!

  40. 41 Frank Frink Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 8:30 am

I get the sense that she protesteth about feminism so much that she must have a repressed feminist inside her!

She would like to be a feminist, but only if her husband says it’s OK.

    orange

I get the sense that she protesteth about feminism so much that she must have a repressed feminist inside her!

If it was anyone else, I would agree, but with SUZANNE it’s just one thing: abortion. Feminists are responsible not only for getting abortion legalized, but for maintaining the status quo (no government in our wombs, thankyouverymuch).

She currently has a post up where she claims that feminists “like” abortion (as if a medical procedure is something that can be liked or disliked). I’ve challenged her 3 times to find me a quote where any feminist has said “Yay abortion, I like abortion, abortion rocks” or whatever, and I’m still waiting.

  42. 43 J. A. Baker Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 10:31 am

JAB – Have you ever visited Ken’s Place?

I just did, JJ. And now I need a chemical shower and a couple of gallons of brain bleach…UGH. Better get a bucket, while you’re at it.

  43. 45 J. A. Baker Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 11:53 am

No. The sheer stupidity was too much to trudge through, and the cesspool stink of it made me run for the porcelain god…

  44. 46 JJ Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 12:42 pm

JAB – Is he a substitute teacher? God, I hope not, but that’s sort of the impression I get from his blog.

  45. 47 deBeauxOs Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 12:48 pm

If he is a substitute teacher, a parent whose children frequent a school served by the board that hires Ken should warn the authorities that an individual blogging such violent exhortations is, at the very least, inappropriate and most likely a danger to his students.

  46. 48 Audrey II Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 11:19 pm

Ken isn’t a substitute teacher, but he is now a member of his local library board, despite some opposition being raised. His blog has now become a narcissistic shrine to himself, where he reposts articles about himself.

The local officials in Eganville seem to be aware of his positions, but I think that if they knew the half of what he posts in comboxes around the blogosphere (his recent “coathanger” comment, for example), they might reconsider his employment. A few dozen protestors brandishing coathangers and placards with his post attending the local library board’s next meeting might make for some interesting times.

Just sayin’ those in Ontario who might be more familiar with some of Ken’s juicier stuff might want to pass the info and idea on to the local Progressive candidates.
