That was then

Remember when a “coalition with socialists and separatists” was a bad idea?:

Tory insiders say the party is hatching a survival plan to keep the surging Liberals at bay and delay any potential election long enough to enjoy the international limelight at the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. [...]

However, the Tories will need the NDP and the Bloc to play ball if they hope to stave off a non-confidence vote before the 2010 Winter Games, to be held from Feb. 12 to 28.

So far, it appears the NDP and the Bloc are willing to back up the Tories — at a price.

All together now: IT’S OKAY IF YOU’RE A CONSERVATIVE!

    But . . but . .but .. . that’s an unelected coalition and
    it has no legitimacy.

Wasn’t that what Harper said back last December–or words like it?

So the shoe’s on the other foot.

Why does the “smartest guy in the room” keep painting himself
into corners? A conservative implosion death-wish perhaps?

    Or . . . wait for it . . .dumb!

Now if the MSM would just start persistently asking his Harpness about this news of a Con-NDP-Bloc coalition that would be great! Questions like, “Is there a formal agreement in place?”, or “What have you had to offer to the Bloc to bring them on side?”, or “Will Jack Layton have a seat at your Cabinet table?”

Hypocritical opportunists the lot of them.

    Canajun,

So, it’s only okay to have a coalition if the Liberals are involved? Is that really what you’re saying?

The coalition was ok. I liked it. But one built on such hypocracy as the conservatives are planning is just plain creepy. The man would do anything and watch out for a man who would do anything.

Canajun, in order for reporters to ask Harper questions, he has to have a press conference. He’s not that stupid.

So they say… or at least, used to say. Everything really does look different in the Spring, I guess!

Hahahahahaha! They can’t ask him — he never talks to them!

ADHR – The difference is the Liberals aren’t on record as saying a coalition with socialists and separatists was a danger to Canada.

Annie P – To tell you the truth, I don’t think there’s that much difference between any of them, and this kind of proves that point.

It’s a coup! We must close Parliament to prevent our government from being taken over by our elected representatives!

If the NDP and Bloc exact a high enough price for their votes, cool. But it better be high. More embarrassing for Steve that way.

JJ – Maybe that will be Harper’s excuse!

It’s always nice to see that y’all’s conservatives are just as nakedly hypocritical as our conservatives.

JAB – Nobody flip-flops like a conservative flip-flops. What I like is all the rationalizations they come up with — what a hoot!
