Lifesite suggests a Vatican writer might be “out of touch”. Huh!??
Is this about the 9-year-old rape victim who the Vatican felt should carry twins until her uterus exploded? Or about the Pope’s idiotic jabbering on the subject of condoms and AIDS? No… it’s because one Vatican writer had the temerity to suggest that President Obama’s “first 100 days” weren’t as horrific as expected, presumably because the streets are not, in fact, running red and ankle-deep with embryonic blood. How dare he:
In a front-page article in the April 30 issue of the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano, writer Giuseppe Fiorentino suggests that the first 100 days of the Obama Administration have “not shaken the world” in terms of being as negative as expected. Given the source, the article sent shock waves through the pro-life world particularly in America, which was left with the distinct impression that the Vatican writer was very out of touch with his subject material.
Sounds like this Vatican writer might have his head sort of screwed on(!)(!??). Maybe he’s even thinking there might be something to Obama’s goal of finding “common ground” to lower the rate of abortion, because the absolutist position (ban it) isn’t
realistic? Well, SHRIEEK:
Douglas Johnson, the Legislative Director for National Right to Life Committee in the US, told LifeSiteNews.com, that contrary to what some have said, the pro-life perspective on Obama’s first 100 days has shown that he’s “already proven to be the most relentlessly pro-abortion President who has ever held office.”
Yeah, and Douglas Johnson et al don’t have a vested interest in maintaining the anti-choice movement’s absolutist status quo — the concept of actually reducing abortions through contraception and comprehensive sex-ed isn’t sufficiently incendiary to crank up the donation machine, is it now?
“Out of touch” is clearly relative.

Can’t say much for LifeSite except that it
reminds me of this:

And the same goes for Marc Steyn and Michael Coren and
all the other dreadful creatures out there.
Torontonian – “One Note Samba”
Very good
Funny how Cristian hits it right on eh?
I’ve been arguing like this for ages with anti-choice zygote zealots, including SUZANNE. If you want to stop abortions, support birth control.
At which they reveal that it really isn’t about the kid ( as if abandoning them the minute they come out the chute isn’t a big enough clue), but about controlling and punishing women for daring to have sex and command their own bodies.
Hence they are against birth control, abortion, divorce, and women working outside the home.
And someday very soon, they will die off, and be relegated to fringe lunatics like the KKK.

HERETIC!
Mike
Exactly, and anyone who doesn’t get that is either a bonehead or a hypocrite, possibly both.
That post by Cristina Page was so right on — there should be some common ground that can be found between prochoice and “prolife”. Less abortions, good goal to have. But taking the absolutist position, that everyone should just stop bonking, isn’t working. So it’s clear that there’s another agenda.
JAB – OK, how do you do that (embed video)?
Just copy the embed code from YouTube and paste it into the body of the your comment.
Ah yes, but as we know, Satan created the Roman Catholic Church using his minions among the Babylonian sun-worshippers:

So their mouthpieces obviously can’t be trusted in such matters.
Rev Dave – Holy moly, even I would have to admit that’s some raging anti-Catholic bigotry there! I know the fundies think the Catholic church is a weird cult, but I had no idea they felt so strongly about it. Yikes
Yeah, well, that’s Jack Chick for you.
In other tracts he claims the Catholic church founded Islam, communism, and Mormons to distract people from the truth about Christ. And you should see what he has to say about gay rights (or not – it’s kind of revolting).
