Oops, they did it again

Once again, LIEnews makes shit up in their report on the story about the guy who drove his SUV too close for the comfort of an anti-abortion protester:

Abortion Advocate Nearly Runs Over Pro-Life Planned Parenthood Protestor_1246427056063

And once again erroneously identifies him as an “abortion advocate”, when there’s no evidence that the abortion issue had anything to do with the situation, or what the perpetrator’s opinion is (let alone being an “advocate”).

Bearing false witness:  okay when it’s fer Jaysus and feti.

Pants-On-Fire Files, Lifenews edition

Today the scare-quote-crazed Christianist mouthpieces “Lifesite” and “Lifenews” are dutifully parrotting the story that someone tried to fuck with a security camera at Operation Scumbag’s “headquarters” on the “weekend” (suspect “unknown” and “at large”).   But for some reason, they’re not reporting it exactly the same way.  Lifesite:

Operation Rescue Office Security System Attacked - Group Complains of Police Apathy_1246322150743

And Lifenews:

Abortion Advocate Attacks Pro-Life Group's Office, Tries to Disable Security System_1246322078484

See the big fat lie?  Of course you do.  The Lifenews headline claims that the perp (if indeed there was a perp, but I’ll get to that) was an “abortion advocate”.  Given that Lifesite ran the story 3 days after Lifenews, this isn’t some breaking! news! that’s come out about the suspect.  If there was even the shadow of an indication that the suspect was an “abortion advocate”, Lifesite would be screaming their lungs out about it… but they’re not.  If even Lifesite, which generally bullshits with reckless abandon, didn’t consider this detail worth adding, then it must be a Whopper.  Maybe, through a momentary lapse in their usual batshit insanity, Lifesite editors were able to see that there’s nothing to indicate this little “event” was anything other than a routine B&E… if that.

Yeah.  Let’s look at this thing.  Here’s what they want us to believe actually happened:  (1) A few days after they started bitching to the cops about “threats” and (2) got the cold shoulder from said cops,

Posted same day as story about bicycle "attacker"

Posted same day as story about bicycle "attacker"

(3) someone tried to fuck with their security camera, (4) in broad daylight no less, with (5) people inside the building, and (6) nothing but a bicycle as a getaway vehicle, and that (7) the deal went down while OR’s Troy Newman just happened to be on the phone with a Washington Times reporter, talking about, you guessed it, (8) the death threats Operation Slimebucket’s received.  To top it off, they have a video of the whole routine that looks like a Grade 7 Theatre Arts performance.   But that’s not all…

The Lifenews story with the bogus headline was posted on Friday — however, Operation Douchenozzle’s press release wasn’t posted until Saturday morning.

Operation Rescue_1246325662667

I guess it’s possible that Lifenews somehow got the “scoop” right after it “happened”, but knowing these people and how much they LIE (there’s evidence of that right in the headline of the Lifenews story), it’s probably just as possible that something else is going on.

*Sniff*  Smells like something rotten is burning, and it’s coming from the general vicinity of Lifenews and Operation Slimebucket.

Greeted as liberators

Today in Iraq:

U.S. forces handed over formal control of Iraq’s major cities today (it is already Tuesday in Iraq), “a defining step toward ending the U.S. combat role in the country.” In celebration, Iraqis launched fireworks and “thousands attended a party in a park [in Baghdad] where singers performed patriotic songs. …Loudspeakers at police stations and military checkpoints played recordings of similar tunes throughout the day, as Iraqi military vehicles decorated with flowers and national flags patrolled the capital.”

Finally, the flowers, if not the candy.

Those who forget history

In the wake of Dr.Tiller’s assassination there’s been a lot of grousing about how anti-choicers are being “unfairly tarred” with the “terrorist” brush, and a lot of false equivalencies made in an attempt to compromise the significance of the violence perpetrated by  the anti-abortion lunatic fringe.   Well, let history be your guide.  Here’s a brief history of anti-abortion terrorism, as presented by Rachel Maddow the day after Dr. Tiller’s death:

And it’s significant that these are just the major events, the ones that actually killed people.  To document every single anti-choice terrorist incident, including the ones where they didn’t succeed in killing anyone, but maybe just injured, maimed or terrorized — every bombing, every arson, every stabbing, every anthrax mailing, every gluing of clinic doors, every phone threat, every vehicle rammed into a building housing a clinic, every act of intimidation outside a clinic — would fill every double-sided page of a volume the size of a major city’s phone book.

While it would be oversimplification to suggest they’re all terrorists, there’s no doubt that the anti-abortion movement harbours a disproportionately high number of them, and too few who unequivocally condemn the violence and actively work to marginalize such people.  Some call that “giving safe haven”.  I call it “being onside”.

40 years from Stonewall

GayFlagYesterday marked 40 years (40 years!) since Stonewall, the beginning of one of the last human rights battles.   How far the world has come… but the journey’s not over yet.

Bruce at Canuck Attitude has a great post up about his reflections on a momentous day in GLBT history… go read.  Yes, now.

Things Atheists Didn’t Do

Ah, finally!  Someone’s keeping a running tally of all the things atheists didn’t do (presumably because we were too busy forcing our fundamentalist secular-humanist religion down the throats of persecuted fundies), for your perusal right here.

Operation Next Target

Predictably, the Kansas City Star reports that Operation Scumbag’s next campaign of escalating harassment, intimidation and violence is about to begin:

But now the group, which hounded Tiller for years, is turning its sights on LeRoy Carhart, the Nebraska-based physician who regularly assisted Tiller.

Operation Rescue has put out the word that it wants to hear from women who sought abortions from Carhart in the last five years. It’s doing a “research project” on Carhart, according to its website.

Yep:Operation Rescue_1245969471197

That’s Dr. Carhart on the left.  There’s more — lots more — at the link they encourage their readers to “Click here!”.  Hey look, it’s batshit crazy “Christina” — the loonytune who launched a “full-scale 30-day prayer assault” at me — piling on the slime:

Operation Rescue_1246220667861

As usual with these despicable, brain-damaged freaks, Christina is testing the bounds of reality with an unverifiable story that will nonetheless help flip the crazy breakers on  Operation Douchebag’s more psychotic readers, people like Scott Roeder.   To what end, Christina?  Just part of an innocent “research project”?

If experience is any guide, this “research project” will result in unverifiable and downright bogus allegations, which the group will make public. It’s the sort of information that just might inflame an unbalanced person like Scott Roeder, the man accused of shooting Tiller in his church — where, by the way, Operation Rescue had protested and disrupted services numerous times.

But when tragedy occurs, Operation Rescue’s leaders are shocked and appalled. Or so they say.

Dr. Carhart plans to provide abortion services in Kansas in the near future.  The When and the Where is uncertain, but there’s little doubt as to What will follow.  As soon as the location becomes known — and it has to become known, because how else will women who need it find it? — the deranged and delusional anti-abortion freakshow will plant itself on the doorstep, and the whole sick psychotic circus will start over again: ongoing protests, escalating hate rhetoric, demonization, bogus legal harassment… and on and on and on  it goes.

If an al qaeda cell was operating in Kansas and the bodies were starting to hit the ground, the Homeland Security threat level advisory system would be spinning out in multicoloured spasms and law enforcement would be all over it.  Just sayin’.

Your Morning Woo

222_snakehandlers_deweyMore proof that just about any demented fundamentalist crackpot can end up with the word “doctor” (or “docter”) before his name (hello Chuckles?) can be found in the medical theories of the recently-departed Dr. Ralph D. Winter.  Winter, a missiologist, claimed that far from being products of lifestyle, environment and vicious parasites, diseases are caused by the flipside of Intelligent Design, “Intelligent Evil”:

Dr. Ralph D. Winter, who recently died at the age of 84, had argued that all violent forms of life – including all disease pathogens – are the works of an “intelligent evil power” that seeks to destroy God’s creation.

“Evangelicals have recently stressed the inevitable intelligence and design in nature, but they have not, to my knowledge, attempted to suggest that there is evidence of any evil intelligence and design,” said Winter.  [...]

As a result, God has for far too long been taking the blame for Satan’s destructive works, Winter contended. And even Christians are confused over who is responsible for all the evil in the world, including disease and suffering. Some even claim that God wants diseases in the world.

“This is perhaps due to a theological tradition which does not understand demonic powers to have the ability to distort DNA,” he expressed.

It’s actually not too surprising that the hard-of-thinking might buy into this claptrap:  once you enter the fundamentalist religious realm, I suspect anything goes.  And this little routine has the fringe benefit of relieving the sick person of guilt for getting that way in the first place.  If someone consumes a steady diet of Big Macs, Cheetos and Marlboros and ends up 50 lbs overweight with cardiovascular disease, it’s probably easier to blame Satan than accept the fact that their lifestyle choices are fucked up.

Astonishingly, Dr.Winter clung to his bizarre theories even after he fell ill:

But even as he battled multiple myeloma and lymphoma, Winter maintained that God is not responsible for the presence of evil but an intelligent evil is.

“I have a strong suspicion that these defects are often actually intelligently evil distortions by Satan not just things that went wrong accidentally,” Winter wrote in a past article, titled “Evolved or Involved?”

But ultimately he conceded:

Therefore, Christians must not only pray for healing as if it is only up to God to cure diseases, Winter said. Instead, they should use scientific knowledge that God has allowed them to understand to actively work toward eradicating diseases by fighting the source of the problem.

So, to distill all the preceding circumloquacious superstitious gobbledygook into two words: “Trust Science”.

I just ordered 8 of these “Trust Women” wristbands from NARAL.  6 of them are up for grabs, first come first served.

Answering the “fetal rights” argument

0801436079.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpg (JPEG Image, 97x140 pixels)_1246122734581Having failed after 40 years to convince most of us that abortion is equivalent to infanticide, for the last little while the anti-choice movement has been shifting its focus to “personhood” and “fetal rights“.

To me, the primary reason that fetal rights is a non-starter is pretty straightforward.  In any conflict of interest between a pregnant woman and the embryo/fetus she’s carrying, the woman’s rights must supercede; otherwise, pregnant women would have less right to self-determination than non-pregnant ones.  To put it in slightly more incendiary terms, fetal rights would reduce pregnant women to second-class citizens beholden to a fetus — ambulatory incubators.

Recently Wendy McIlroy of iFeminists looked at the implications of  fetal rights from a libertarian standpoint.   Such as:

Implication #5: anti-abortionists are destroying the concept of natural rights itself which claims that every human being properly has jurisdiction over his or her own body. It is only because each human being is a self-owner that is is improper to initiate force against another. But if the fetus possesses the right to live off the pregnant woman’s body functions — to share the food she eats, the blood her heart pumps — then this is tantamount to saying that one human being can properly own the body functions of another. It is tantamount to saying one human being can properly enslave another.

McIlroy raises some issues that make good arguments against fetal rights, not just in terms of womens’ reproductive freedom, but the wider scope of individual liberty; you can read the whole thing here.

Fetus Fetishists are closer than they appear

784714_7822_625x1000Be very careful which way you sneeze if you’re in the vicinity of an anti-abortion demonstration: you could be charged with attempted assault.  We’re sure to be seeing a lot of this as anti-choicers try to prove that, in spite of the impressive body count they’re racking up, it’s pro-choicers who are the violent ones.   This story is bound to become typical.

Following in the footsteps of the infamous Ed Snell, a couple of days ago in Chico California yet another old fetus fetishizing fart, writhing in the throes of an indignance high in front of the local Planned Parenthood he was harassing, was uninjured but shaken after an SUV passed in his general vicinity:

A man who allegedly used an SUV in an attempted to run over an anti-abortion protester Wednesday outside of the Planned Parenthood office, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Matthew R. Haver, 40, was arrested by Chico police for allegedly trying to hit James Cantfield, 69, of Chico.  [...]

Witnesses said a man driving a 1991 GMC sport utility vehicle had attempted to strike a protester, according the release.

Canfield moved out of the way and was not seriously injured during the incident, but clearly shaken by the experience, Chico Police Lt. John Carrillo said.

It’s not too hard to imagine what happened here.  Close your eyes and visualize the scencario…

For the fetus fetishists, it’s business as usual:  just another day of hanging around in the street outside Planned Parenthood, screaming, yelling, threatening, praying, crying, menacing, scolding and slut-shaming anyone who enters the clinic (probably in direct contravention of the FACE Act, but never mind that.) Along comes Haver in his SUV, attempting to make his way down the street and instead being confronted with a frothing, foaming, shrieking little wankfest.  He leans on the horn, screams “Comin’ through!” and walks the vehicle slowly forward, scattering the zygote zealots like so much brainless flotsam.   Canfield however has a sign:

Carrillo said Canfield is a regular demonstrator at Planned Parenthood and also at the Women’s Health Center on Fir Street. He has a large sign with a graphic photo of an aborted fetus.

…and he intends to use it:

The investigation revealed Haver had a child with him in the vehicle, and as they drove by the demonstration, the child asked what was on the sign.

Carrillo said it appears Haver became enraged over the picture of the aborted fetus, lost control of his emotions and tried to strike Canfield with his vehicle.

Right, but there are clearly a few missing details:  like the part where Canfield shoves his sign up against Haver’s vehicle, because that’s what these people do, right in the kid’s face, prompting the kid to say “Whaddafuck!!?” and his father to hit the gas, leaving Canfield behind, unhurt but “shaken”, and screaming for the cops, and fetusbloggers screaming about “pro-choice violence”.  (The fact is, we don’t know what Haver’s position on abortion is — we only know he’s opposed to being obstructed by idiots while driving.)

In related news, being “shaken” is now considered the same as  having the side of your face blown off at close range in a hail of bullets.

Something new

Maybe I’m a little slow on the uptake, but I hadn’t heard about the atheist answer to GodTube:  NoGodTube.   Looks promising, in a fundamentalist secular-humanist kind of way.  I give it Two Shrieks Up.

YouTube pulls fetus fetishist vid

By now everyone’s heard about anti-choice scumbag “Lila Rose“, who slimes her way into Planned Parenthood offices pretending to be a minor and covertly films the interviews she has with clinic staff.  Lila Rose, Lila Pose.  It’s a sad, scummy tale that starts in a Planned Parenthood office and, after heavy heavy editing, ends on YouTube:

Since 2006, Rose and a friend have been approaching Planned Parenthood clinics pretending to be underage girls, pregnant by older men, seeking an abortion. Their aim: to catch a Planned Parenthood staffer or volunteer violating the law by counseling the young girls to lie about the ages of their adult boyfriends. The videos, according to the Los Angeles Times are then “boiled down to five minutes, with portentous music and fast cuts to heighten the drama,” and posted both to Rose’s LiveAction.org Web site and YouTube.

“There is this stereotype of who we pro-life leaders are, and for the most part it would be white middle-aged religious men trying to impose their will on women,” said the Rev. Patrick Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition. “So now with Lila, you bring this young, fresh college student that completely blows any stereotypes away. No one is going to accuse Lila of being mean, vindictive, and harsh.”

I beg to differ:  devoting all one’s time and energy to skulking around clinics for the express purpose of denying other women their rights is not only mean, vindictive and harsh, but sleazy douchebaggery of the highest order.   But the worm may finally be turning for this vicious little Nazi shrew and her loathesome, spittle-flecked propaganda — YouTube has apparently pulled one of her videos.  Predictably, the whining and yammering is rising to an ululating crescendo as the denizens of Nurse Stanek’s Psych Ward & Basketweaving Workshop stroke themselves into a persecution-driven ragegasm:

I AM SO MAD. The media understands the importance of visuals only for causes or movements it supports. The pro-life movement is certainly not one.

Stanek is, as usual, playing “fast and loose” with the truth, suggesting that the video is being “censored” because it features dead fetus images.   Unfortunately, YouTube hosts thousands of such videos with the same kind of graphic imagery, identical images in fact — they all use and re-use, renew and recycle the same pictures posted at the Operation Shithead and Army of God websites.  The difference is, Lila Rose’s videos are borderline defamatory.

One of Stanek’s commenters (no doubt soon to be deleted for Apostasy) responds:

Jill Stanek - Mainstream media's selective censorship of iconic images, even TODAY_1245965598956

So there.  Lila Hose’s “citizen entrapment” tactics push the bounds of legality to begin with, and hosting her videos is risky.   But not for long.  Her routine seems to have run its course — the video YouTube pulled, that of a clinic worker disputing the veracity of  fetus pron, isn’t exactly pants-pissingly huge breaking news.  But it has impacted Planned Parenthood to some degree by focusing the government’s disapproving gaze on its funding.

The real crime is that although 97% of PP’s services are not abortion-related, thanks to outrage generated by Lila Hosebag’s propaganda, PP’s funding has been  threatened in some states — and that’s bad news not just for women seeking abortions, but for those needing other services like cancer screening.  In some areas, Planned Parenthood is the only convenient place to get mammography screening, and funding cuts mean less access to this essential service.  Why does Lila Rose want women to get cancer?

And one other point of interest, if you please:  I wonder if any underage girls have been denied abortion care lately, thanks to Lila Rose’s tireless efforts?  And I further wonder if Lila Rose will be there to help these unwilling mothers when they give birth,  maybe by donating some of the money she gets from the Leadership Institute?  When porcine ungulates aviate.

GOP Reboot Camps

From the GOP’s “Rebuild The Party” website, the latest idea designed to help get the party off life support and breathing on its on again — Republican re-education camps!  No, really:

Rebuild the Party | A Plan for the Future_1245987024026

“Reboot Camp” seems to be sort of like those teabagging parties, but without the Fox News support, signs and goofy hats.   Another way for Republicans to get together and discuss the many suave and elegant suggestions coming in from the party rank & file; ideas  such as these:

Customer Feedback & Ideas for Rebuild the Party_1245984274141

Whoa!  Neal Horsley?   Sure, why not?  Who wouldn’t want a dedicated Christofascist, keeper of online hit lists, mulefucker and savage violator of melon fruit, and singer of touching ballads like Dead Baby On My Back Bluesand “Ol’ Scott Roeder Down In Wichita” (no, I’m not kidding)… for Ayatollah of the New & Improved, Rebooted & Rebuilt GOP?

The Horsely suggestion was probably (I hope) a fake, just another libtard mocking dumb conservatives; what’s disturbing is how many other readers voted for it.  Which makes me wonder if any amount of “rebooting” can help an organization whose ideological hard drive is so clearly fried.

More bad GOP craziness

While we in the Great White Ndimbulb1orth may occasionally face the tiresome task of beating back stealth anti-choice “Unborn Victims” bills tabled by the fundamentalist chimps in the CPC caucus, maybe we should consider ourselves lucky that none of them have proposed a federal “Ministry of Fetuses”.

Don’t laugh:  in the US of A, it’s not enough that women are dogged at every turn by fetus fetishists and terrorists who’d deny them agency over their own bodies and turn them into unwilling incubators — now the Compulsory Childbirth wing of the GOP (the only wing), spinning out into paroxysms of fetalphilial ecstasy, has come up with a wiggy little idea for a federal office of “unborn childrens’ health”.   Think I’m kidding?:

Last week, Congress began the formal process of overhauling the nation’s health-care system as the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee began to mark up** its health-care reform legislation – the Affordable Health Choices Act. This committee is one of five congressional panels with jurisdiction over this broad policy area.

During this first stage of the mark-up process, Republicans filed 300-plus amendments that address women’s health in some way, approximately a dozen of which are anti-choice. Which one do you think jumped out at us right away? An amendment from (whom else?) Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) to establish a federal “Office of Unborn Children’s Health.”

Who is this “Senator Tom Coburn” of whom you speak?  What’s the story with his obsession with womens’ health issues?  Well, let’s see…

Coburn is pro-life and opposes abortion even in cases of rape.  In 2000, Coburn sponsored a bill to prevent the Food and Drug Administration from developing, testing or approving the abortifacient RU-486.  On July 13, the bill failed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 182 to 187.[15] On the issue, Coburn sparked controversy with his remark, “I favor the death penalty for abortionists and other people who take life.”

Sounds like a nice enough guy, in an Operation Rescue-Army of God kind of way.

…this “Office of Unborn Children’s Health” proposal is one of just nine amendments he’s filed on the health-care reform bill thus far. With so many Americans lacking basic health care, it is unconscionable that Sen. Coburn continues to use legislation on this important issue as a means to continue his ideological attacks.

Unconscionable yes, surprising no.  The GOP’s descent into madness and depravity started a long time ago; having their asses handed to them last November gave them the freedom to rip off all the bandages and let The Crazy ooze pus-like from aneurysms like Coburn.  The US is entering a new phase of political insanity, during which ideas so bugfuck crazy that people dared not articulate them will start coming to light… and this is just one of them.  Settle in, hunker down, and don’t forget to wear your helmet.

So much for “subliminal seduction”, eh?  Good grief, how many kinds of Wrong can you pack into one ad?

When I worked on fast food business in the ad industry, it was standard operating procedure to produce “male and female” versions of ads that featured one person.  I wonder if BK has a sister (or “brother”) ad for this one?   And if not, why not?

PBS: Abortion Providers Under Siege

PBS recently ran a “Frontline” special about anti-abortion terrorism, featuring interviews with Dr. Warren Hern and Dr. LeRoy Carhart. It gives a real sense of the kind of terror these doctors — and their clinic staff, families and friends — have to live with every day, and it’s sickening:

Watch and listen to the doctors, then go to the PBS site and scroll through some of the comments with the video. You decide who sounds rational and who sounds “hard-line“.   (There’s also a poll you can vote in.)

Mental floss

Awww kitteh…

NOT-DOG-FUDThis is a pretty perplexing situation for the dog.  She had a hard enough time with the concept of the “litter tray” (the first time she encountered it she promptly took a dump in it… EEEEK!), but this food bowl thing the cat’s gotten into has to be pushing the bounds of canine comprehension.  Mr. Blue obviously likes to live on the edge.

Stanek to General: “Feds involved”

Threat_levelsLast week, forced pregnancy freaks and fetus fetishists complained that following their hit on the death of Dr. George Tiller, they were being targeted by Imaginary Death Threats .   There was a  frenzied reaction at Jill’s In Vitrio Cappuccino Bar and Quik-Lube to one “threat” in particular:

“the least you could do is offer to hold a rifle blessing service in her honor.”

– which of course turned out to be nothing but a fragment of a post at Jesus’ General that anyone with a functioning brainstem could see was not a threat.  One of Stanek’s own readers argued that the quote wasn’t a threat and found himself summarily deleted.  The General himself commented at Stanek’s in response to her silly and scurrilous accusation, and following a sneaky 2-day waiting period (to make sure nobody was watching), his comment was also summarily deleted (see update).

Apparently there’s no penetrating the amniotic sac of delusion and derangement  inhabited by Jill and the gang at Stanek’s Late-Term GasBar & Smoke Shop… she’s sticking to her story that Gen. JC Christian called for her to be summarily  deleted (in her 130th trimester!).31LcLaiHhtL Today Gen. JC Christian reports that despite his best efforts to Reach Out and Find  Common Ground in stopping the Tubesock Holocaust, in an email Stanek scoldingly informed him that the FBI is on the case!   Know fear!  The Fetal Bureau of Investigation always gets their man!

Monday Morning Power Snark Energy Drink: Teh Crazy is really heating up today at  Jill’s Drive-Thru Brainwash & Coin Launderette, where she compares the shooting of the baby in the photo we discussed here to a legal medical procedure.  Shine on, you crazy diamond!

Thou shalt not steal, bitchez!

Gah!!  The nerve of these slimy socon fucktards never fails to amaze me.  This one wrote a typically putrescent and spittle-flecked anti-gay screed, only to add insult to injury by stealing Mark’s artwork and sticking it at the top of the post!   What the fuck!?

…and he was a lot more polite than I would have been.

Seriously, there’s something Wrong with these people:  bad enough they break the 9th Commandment on a constant  basis, now they’re shamelessly and savagely violating the 8th.  Maybe they’re working their way down the list?

Speaking of Mark, here’s his own far more reality-based take on the same topic the soconitwit was shrieking about.  With cartoons!  His own!

NOW’s “Phelps-like tactics” scuttle anti-choice demo

Shorter sanctimonious Operation Ratshit asshole Rev. Patrick J. (for “Jerkoff”?) Mahoney:  “It’s so unfair that people object to us hounding Dr. Tiller beyond the grave we helped put him in”:

Pro-life groups move the location of Saturday prayer and memorial service in Wichita, Kansas.

The groups made the change after the National Organization for Women (NOW) decided to disrupt the solemnity of the memorial service with a counter demonstration.
The pro-life leaders did not want NOW to ruin the sacredness of the memorial with their hateful Fred Phelps like tactics.

Let’s see now: they target and harass a doctor for decades with extremely intrusive protests and escalating hate rhetoric, culminating with one of their loony-tunes finally walking the talk and murdering said doctor… and NOW are the ones using “Fred Phelps-like tactics” when they counter-protest these deranged fruitbags?

A furious Mahoney beats the baloney:

“Sadly, NOW decided to show utter contempt for a religious and solemn service and decided to disrupt it. We are thankful that the pro-life community showed respect for Dr. Tiller and his family and chose not to disrupt or demonstrate at his memorial service.”

So let’s have a round of applause for the superhuman restraint of the fetus fetishists for finally taking a day off after their previous 7,300 days of concentrated disruption, demonstrations, hate and harassment.  But speaking of “Phelps-like tactics”, I seriously question Operation Psycho’s motivation in staying away from the funeral.  Maybe it’s just me, but the signs in this picturephelps

…don’t look any more hateful than the ones Operation Scumbag uses  3380759887_70dcff3c87_m

…could it be that the media-savvy OR was just worried about the ginko nuts  being mixed in with the cashews?

Right. I’m sure the fact that the Phelps gang got to the funeral first had nothing to do with it.  And I’m just as sure that the little wankfest they’d planned to hold at the clinic yesterday had nothing to do with dancing and pissing on Dr. Tiller’s grave.

And finally: the counter-protest went well, and it was Mission Accomplished with regard to driving the scum away.   Maybe this is something we should be doing on a regular basis.

now

Compare and Contrast

All the news that’s fit to be ignored

Any quaint little notions that anti-choicers might value the lives of post-born pregnant women as much as the pre-born fetuses they carry should be dispelled by the latest dispatch from Our Lady of the Zygotes:

Government of Iran Kills Unborn Baby (GRAPHIC PICTURE WARNING)_1245557317418What follows is a picture (of the fetus) and a grim reminder:  “This is what an unborn victim of crime looks like. The End.

Though you’d never know it unless you clicked on the link, the pregnant woman was also reported to have died in the attack (just thought I’d mention that for those who consider pregnant women to be more than peripheral fetal support hardware).

If indeed this tragic attack even happened in Iran, which is a pretty big “if” and a sizeable “indeed”.  A Palestinian website used the same dead fetus picture a year ago, claiming it happened in Iraq.   But in the world of fetus fetishists, so what?  The only important thing is that somewhere, sometime, somehow, a Fetus was killed — the rest, such as what happened to its ambulatory incubator, is just details anyway.
