YouTube pulls fetus fetishist vid

By now everyone’s heard about anti-choice scumbag “Lila Rose“, who slimes her way into Planned Parenthood offices pretending to be a minor and covertly films the interviews she has with clinic staff.  Lila Rose, Lila Pose.  It’s a sad, scummy tale that starts in a Planned Parenthood office and, after heavy heavy editing, ends on YouTube:

Since 2006, Rose and a friend have been approaching Planned Parenthood clinics pretending to be underage girls, pregnant by older men, seeking an abortion. Their aim: to catch a Planned Parenthood staffer or volunteer violating the law by counseling the young girls to lie about the ages of their adult boyfriends. The videos, according to the Los Angeles Times are then “boiled down to five minutes, with portentous music and fast cuts to heighten the drama,” and posted both to Rose’s LiveAction.org Web site and YouTube.

“There is this stereotype of who we pro-life leaders are, and for the most part it would be white middle-aged religious men trying to impose their will on women,” said the Rev. Patrick Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition. “So now with Lila, you bring this young, fresh college student that completely blows any stereotypes away. No one is going to accuse Lila of being mean, vindictive, and harsh.”

I beg to differ:  devoting all one’s time and energy to skulking around clinics for the express purpose of denying other women their rights is not only mean, vindictive and harsh, but sleazy douchebaggery of the highest order.   But the worm may finally be turning for this vicious little Nazi shrew and her loathesome, spittle-flecked propaganda — YouTube has apparently pulled one of her videos.  Predictably, the whining and yammering is rising to an ululating crescendo as the denizens of Nurse Stanek’s Psych Ward & Basketweaving Workshop stroke themselves into a persecution-driven ragegasm:

I AM SO MAD. The media understands the importance of visuals only for causes or movements it supports. The pro-life movement is certainly not one.

Stanek is, as usual, playing “fast and loose” with the truth, suggesting that the video is being “censored” because it features dead fetus images.   Unfortunately, YouTube hosts thousands of such videos with the same kind of graphic imagery, identical images in fact — they all use and re-use, renew and recycle the same pictures posted at the Operation Shithead and Army of God websites.  The difference is, Lila Rose’s videos are borderline defamatory.

One of Stanek’s commenters (no doubt soon to be deleted for Apostasy) responds:

Jill Stanek - Mainstream media's selective censorship of iconic images, even TODAY_1245965598956

So there.  Lila Hose’s “citizen entrapment” tactics push the bounds of legality to begin with, and hosting her videos is risky.   But not for long.  Her routine seems to have run its course — the video YouTube pulled, that of a clinic worker disputing the veracity of  fetus pron, isn’t exactly pants-pissingly huge breaking news.  But it has impacted Planned Parenthood to some degree by focusing the government’s disapproving gaze on its funding.

The real crime is that although 97% of PP’s services are not abortion-related, thanks to outrage generated by Lila Hosebag’s propaganda, PP’s funding has been  threatened in some states — and that’s bad news not just for women seeking abortions, but for those needing other services like cancer screening.  In some areas, Planned Parenthood is the only convenient place to get mammography screening, and funding cuts mean less access to this essential service.  Why does Lila Rose want women to get cancer?

And one other point of interest, if you please:  I wonder if any underage girls have been denied abortion care lately, thanks to Lila Rose’s tireless efforts?  And I further wonder if Lila Rose will be there to help these unwilling mothers when they give birth,  maybe by donating some of the money she gets from the Leadership Institute?  When porcine ungulates aviate.

“Why does Lila Rose want women to get cancer?”

Now *there,* I believe, is the question. Why does she hate women so much.

Funny eh how in order to make the point they had to heavily edit this down from the what 1 or 2 hour visit to 5 minutes…and how many times did they go back to get some staffer to say something “useful”? How much “unuseable” file do they have where staffer’s did the right thing.

    Gawd these people are liars.

I guess Suzy ALLCAPs will be all over this horrendous quashing of FREEDOM OF SPEECH…

Yep. Blob Blogging Wingnut lives to shrieeekkk!!! about this kind of “christian persecution”.

Even when it will be pointed out to HER that Lila Rose’s productions are slanderous, cobbled-together, pro-lies ‘propoganda’(sic) SHE will crank out self-righteous sanctimonious screeds on this topic. With graphic support, of course. Too bad that fetus doesn’t get a percentage from all the exploitation of its image. It would be a pre-born millionaire by now.

That fucking bitch Lila will be personally responsible for untold cases of undiagnosed cervical and breast cancer, not to mention STDs which can render women INFERTILE if left untreated if Planned Parenthood gets funding pulled because of her. In the US, if you can’t afford health insurance, PP is the place to go for that stuff as they charge (or used to, anyway) on a sliding fee scale.

I’d like to slap the shit out of her. Anyone got a problem with that?

Why does she hate women so much.

    You have to wonder, eh?

Ostensibly, this whole undercover project was about finding out if PP is reporting underage girls impregnated by older men (ie. child abuse). Unfortunately, someone at PP was asleep at the switch in one case, and clinic staff (who were just trying to help the girl get an abortion in a timely fashion) broke the rules. I have to assume this much is true because in that one case, the worker was fired.

However, this is not really about helping young girls, it’s about shutting down PP. They’ve just figured out that this is a way to do it.

    Hate women? Virulently.

How much “unuseable” file do they have where staffer’s did the right thing.

Considering the length of the interviews versus the videos, I’d love to see what ended up on the “cutting room floor”.

It’s entrapment of the highest order. This scumbag obviously just kept going around in circles in the interviews until the clinic worker said what she wanted to hear. I saw some other footage where the same worker was saying “We have to report your boyfriend” — then after much needling and manipulation she breaks the PP rules to help this kid.

I find the whole thing kind of odd — PP is well aware that fetus fetishists do this kind of thing, so they should be ready for it.

SQ – It’s hard to call it a free speech issue when it’s a private enterprise (Google) making the decision to pull the video based on risk assessment — Google isn’t preventing them from airing it somewhere else, and neither is the government. Maybe they should try GodTube ;)

I think she’s already posted about it, a few weeks ago. I meant to blog about it after the LA Times ran a story about this little scrag, but it was just before Dr.Tiller was viciously murdered by an anti-abortion FREAK and I became distracted.

joe agnost – Are you still banned from BBW?

    This pushes my buttons too.

How many times have the fetus freaks at the fake pregnancy centres been exposed as lying, manipulative asshats? Hundreds, I’m guessing.

And this little self-important twerp uses the same sort of lying, manipulative techniques to twist PP counsellors around until they say something she can edit into what she wants. Shit, these people want to HELP.

I’d like to know more about her financing.

  14. 14 joe agnost Friday, June 26, 2009 at 10:02 am

JJ: “joe agnost – Are you still banned from BBW?”

I don’t really know… I’ve been so good about boycotting the place that I wouldn’t know! I get the urge to head over to BBW when a story comes out that I just KNOW she’ll cover in a vile way – but I resist the urge because the idea that she got the pleasure of banning me (several months ago) once makes me sick!

I do NOT want to give her ANY MORE pleasure or add to her superiority complex by being banned again…

Probably the same people who financed Scott Roeder

A lot of far-right religious nuts are rewarding her “generously” ($50k in one lump, so altogether it has to be well into the 6 figures). The Leadership Institute is just one of them. It sounds like she’s making money hand over fist with this little routine, but that’s bound to peter out pretty quick if she can’t come up with anything more hard-hitting than a clinic staffer telling someone the fetus pron isn’t real.

I notice on her website she’s branching out now into trying to prove PP has some racist agenda to eliminate african-americans. Good luck with that!

  17. 17 JJ Friday, June 26, 2009 at 10:57 am

joe – If you got banned back when her comments policy was pretty wide open, you wouldn’t stand a chance now. Since Dr.Tiller’s death, she’s been swinging the ban stick pretty good.

I haven’t been banned, but I have been edited and even deleted  a few times for insulting one of her nutcase readers. (And not even a bad insult, just a garden-variety “get the Dr. to up your meds” kind of insult.)

  18. 18 JJ Friday, June 26, 2009 at 10:58 am

JAB – Yes, Operation Scumbag is one of her benefactors. Along with probably a lot of people we’ll never know about because they are too extremist.

You know what’s weird, JJ? I haven’t been banned. I haven’t even had any of my comments edited or deleted (though a couple have failed to make it past the comment filter), and my comments have been far more trollish than yours, from an objective standpoint.

    Go figure.
