Palin plot thickens

There might well be a shitstorm on SaWah’s horizon, as many are speculating following her bizarre resignation yesterday.

Just another bit of fuel for the fires of speculation (because it would be irresponsible not to speculate):  Three days ago, an Alaska blogger was able to raise the money needed to access some documents under the Freedom of Information Act that it was felt might reveal ethics violations.   Apparently the blogger paid for the documents on Thursday.  The next day (yesterday), Palin held her incoherent presser revealing that she’s taking a hike.

Coincidence?

Hmm.

Blogosphere WIN! This is soooooo cool. Can’t wait to see what she found.

Yeah, it’s awesome. They took up a collection and raised enough money to get the documents released.

I don’t know if it has anything to do with the resignation, but the timing, and the fact that it was obviously rushed, looks suspicious.

The chutzpah is breath-taking, though. Throughout that self-pitying, glurge-y, stream-of-unconsciousness rambling press statement, Palin suggested that the scrutiny was too much.

Um, yeah – unless you’re hiding something that might be, oh … not ethical, possibly illegal and could lead to criminal proceedings?

One of the most hilarious things about all this is the rightwing bleating: ‘The evul biased media would never never ever have hounded Obama like they did Sarah’. Yeah. Fake birth certificate, secret Muslim, palling around with terrists. No. It’s been a cake-walk for Obama compared to the martyred Sarah.

She can’t control what’s coming so she’s quitting.
Her real character is finally exposed.

Now what’s that Mormon guy hiding…

We want her – TO GO!

Well to be fair most of the hounding of Obama didn’t come from the media, it came from the same nutjobs who support Palin.

Funny thing about the media – they don’t waste their time on fake stories. If there was any truth to the Obama slurs they’d have been all over them because basically they don’t really care who the president is. They care about selling newspapers and/or advertising.

deBeauxOs – Chutzpah squared. Well, this person possessed sufficient hubris to believe that she could be president (the VP’s primary duty should the Prez be unable). When in reality it’s becoming more and more apparent that she was way over her head governing a low-density state. That’s more than chutzpah, it’s delusions of grandeur.

fern hill – Actually, I don’t think Palin suffered any more than most politicians. The only thing that ever bothered me was bringing her younger kids into it, especially the baby. Making fun of the baby like someone did at Huffpo today is just sicko. The older kid, the pregnant one, well she’s an adult, an obvious hypocrite (spokesperson for abstinence education??), so fair game.

Otherwise, I don’t see how she’s had it any worse than Hillary. As usual, these people can dish it out, but are whiny little wimps when it’s their turn to take it.

JAB – I know you’re kidding but you bring up an interesting point. I wonder if there’ll even be another interview or presser, or if yesterday was IT. Bye, SaWah.

Q – “A snow billy grifter” Yeah, it’s not a matter of “if” or “whether”, it’s a matter of “how badly”. We’ll see. She probably delayed the inevitable by having the presser on Friday afternoon of a long weekend, when a lot of people might have already taken off for their long weekend. But some Tuesday I expect some massive shit to hit the fan.

RB – The funny thing about this whole concept of the media “hounding” Palin — it all started in September when she was introduced as a total unknown, and apparently unvetted, so it was up to the media and bloggers to do what McCain’s people should have done — find out who the hell she is. From there it snowballed, given that there was so much material coming out.

So the whole concept of the media picking on poor Sawah is just a load.

More on what pale linked to late Saturday/early Sunday morning from the Anchorage Daily News.

Or, as Wonkette put it, “Sarah Palin Threatens To Sue Entire Internet, Via Twitter.”

You can’t make up this kind of bugfuck crazy.

  16. 17 JJ Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 6:15 am

pale – Thanks, looks like Palin is suing the blogosphere, the media, and anyone else who says anything mean. Boohoo! Good luck with that, SaWah.

  17. 18 JJ Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 6:17 am

FF – Thanks for the link -= yes, the entire internet! Defamatory statements! Also!

  18. 19 Frank Frink Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 3:46 pm

    THERE ARE RUMORS.

    (There. I’ve said it.)

    So sue me already!

  19. 20 JJ Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 8:02 pm

FF – Yes, THERE ARE RUMOURS. ALSO.

Waiting for lawsuit now… any time now… waiting…

And on a similar topic, I guess the President is also filing lawsuits for all the “rumours” about him that have been flying around for the last year. Oops!

Shhhhh! Don’t get them started. You know they’ll just spin that as, “he’s not suing them because the rumours are true.” ;-)
