Even in their most lucid moments wingnuts are not, as a rule, very reality-centered; but when it comes to their SaWah, they devolve from merely delusional to demonstrably batshit insane. For a prime example, look no further than Freepsville.
Following her weird and incoherent press conference Friday, there’s been much speculation as to why Palin’s bailin’. Here’s one Freeper’s read – it was a Battle Cry, a Declaration of War. AIIEEEEEE! (emphasis laughingly added):
Sarah Palin just made a covert Declaration Of War

Ever notice? When she’s angry, she starts talking a little faster, her eyes lids narrow a tad, and she talks through lips that are a bit closer together – and that faint frown of hers becomes almost permanent, yet a smile remains. She displayed all of those signs today. She didn’t say it in so many words, but if I don’t miss my bet, Sarah Palin just declared all-out war on the left – and believe me, she can wage that war like no other – as has been well demonstrated.
No, she’s not about to run off into seclusion – no, she isn’t tired of politics – and most definitely she isn’t going to join some third-party. This lady is a well-known fighter. She will gather resources, do research, write a book, and enlist an army to fight with her. When that army attacks, squish-GOP kooks and Democrats alike will run in fear, try to hide and cry for help from presstitutes and leftist media whores.
There are many on the right that think that Sarah Palin should go quietly off into the Alaskan outback to fish for salmon. Sorry about that – she will quite likely remain an Alaskan, and yes she’ll do a lot of fishing – a lot of it the political kind, and she’ll skin her political prey, barbeque and roast them – then serve them up for ridicule.
We’ve not seen the last of her – nor have those on the commie-left – all of us have only seen the beginning.
So sit back and wait – many of us will likely get a draft notice in the not distant future.
We have a population intent on fighting back hard – against criminal government, and its betrayal of America. The call to battle began weeks ago, and today as millions join in a revolution already well underway – an accomplish fighter just declared her intention to lead – full time.
Just my 2 cents…
I’m afraid 2 cents is several orders of magnitude more than that particular slice of wingnut wisdom is worth. (Unless it’s satire, in which case: Well done!)

LOL, revolution? To have a complete idiot who can’t even speak in complete sentences do what, exactly? She’s declaring war on Teh Left? Gonna come and shoot me, is she? Or send one of her flying monkeys to do the job? They might be surprised when we shoot back. And there’s waaaaay more of us than there are of them.
HAHAHAHAHA!
Wow. Just … wow.
The rightwing batshit delusional have perfected self-parody to a fine art; sadly they’re totally clueless.

Umm.. yeah. Watch out lefties, you’re all about to become double patty bacon & cheese mooseburgers.
Or not.
I don’t know if there’s any scandals or not and I don’t give a shit.
When you run a campaign for the second highest office in the world and present it as an appeal to the willful ignorance of the masses, you might have to deal with a few stupid jokes, and I think that’s why she’s quitting. Trailer park politics ultimately fails on a large scale.
I’m inclined to think that such an abrupt, bizarre resignation should disqualify her from a Presidential run, but I guess we can’t rule it out altogether as long as the GOP is still being influenced by those willful ignorant masses.
It’s only link whoring if I actually LINK, right? Okay, I won’t. But what I said at Stageleft responds to this:
To the folks who’ve been yammering about the supposed assault on Ms. Palin’s “dignity” over the last year: I’m afraid what the media reported was, unfortunately, exactly what they saw.
You want proof?
Sarah Palin’s resignation was a moment that she herself designed and controlled, without anyone else’s intervention. It was an opportunity to create a legacy moment, to demonstrate some of the statesmanship and dignity her adherents had claimed were being unfairly ignored.
And what did she do with this opportunity to show us all how wrong we had been about her – an opportunity, once again, that SHE scripted and controlled?
She delivered one of the most graceless exits I can remember in politics since Nixon’s surly “you won’t have Nixon to kick around anymore”.
She was petulant, self-pitying, barely coherent, and vindictive. The candidate who berated Hillary Clinton for “whining” – whined. The governor who mocked Obama’s capacity failed to finish a single term. The politician who talked about “responsibility” blamed everyone but herself for her failure.
THAT was Sarah Palin. Bye bye.
Well said Balb… well said.
Dr.Prole – It’s hard to fathom where they get these ideas from… especially considering that her presser wasn’t exactly a rousing, go-gettum type thing (plus held on a Friday before a long weekend — which is the last time you’d hold a press conference that you actually wanted people to see). I guess they write off all these seemingly negative indicators to “the Genius of Palin”
deBeauxOs – Wingnuttery of such perfection is a thing of beauty, in its own savage, brainless way.
FF – It sounds like they’re starting to consider the benefits of cannibalism. Roast them? Serve them up?
I wonder if “Ron C” is really “Hunter”?
She quit 5 colleges in 6 years, quit as mayor, quit the Alaska energy board and now quit as governor…enough said.
These people are all nuts which means they all end up on Beck or Hannity to celebrate their craziness.
Bruce
That seems to be the consensus among all but Bill Kristol (who’s always wrong about everything). Now she can’t claim to have served a term as Governor, so her resume for a presidential run is even thinner.
Maybe the GOP has figured out that she’s unelectable, so pushed her in this new direction to avoid dissent among the rank & file.
balbulican – Well said! That’s what her supporters seem to be missing — that she put together the whole thing herself (I’m pretty sure she even wrote the speech, if you read the transcript it’s full of CAPS and !!!), and could have made anything out of it, yet she opted to go full-metal whine, blame the liberal media etc.
The misconception that “the media” has always been “out to get” poor Sarah was caused by the fact that the McCain campaign did almost no vetting before they offered her the job, so nobody knew who she was. It was left to the media to find out, and what they found out wasn’t good. Can’t blame the messenger for the message.
BTW, you’re welcome to post links here. I know some blogs consider it bad form, but I encourage it. Except for Patrick Ross.
Q – She has a history of quitting when she gets fed up with whatever it is she’s doing. Good quality in a Vice President or better yet, a President
