The Operation Rescue whackaloon must have run out of synonyms for the words “evil” and “mass-murderer” while he was expressing his profound and sincerest regrets over the most recent Death By Anti-Choicer, Dr. George Tiller, because he’s already moved on to the next target. His new campaign, a rolling roadshow against SCOTUS nominee Sonia Sotomayor, shows that Dr.Tiller’s death must have taught him something about the danger of vicious and rabid rhetoric:
Randall Terry, founder of the right-wing extremist group Operation Rescue, has announced a twelve-city tour intended to convince senators that “[t]o refuse to filibuster [Sotomayor] is to bow in abject obedience to the Angel of Death.”
…or maybe not.
Interestingly, Sotomayor seems pretty moderate overall — her only background with regard to abortion was a case where she found in favour of upholding Bush’s Mexico City Policy. If this is what Terry considers “bowing in abject obedience to the angel of death”, one can only imagine the kind of rhetoric he’d employ if the nominee was more overtly pro-choice.
They never learn. Maybe that guy at the Planned Parenthood in Phoenix is onto something.

Yes, he is sick and it’s time to bring him in
for the safety of others. Civil rights be damned.
The public safety comes first and this guy and his

deBeauxOs – Randall Terry is a clown, a demented sicko and a terrorist. Unfortunately he’s got a high enough profile that he’s able to keep the volume turned way up and the crazies on the edge of erupting, like Scott Roeder did on May 31st.
It’s interesting that Operation Rescue is trying so hard to distance itself from Terry, when they both preach the same deranged insanity.

While I share your frustration & anger, the ends don’t justify the means. Of course, this is how they get away with inciting hate, by doing it on the thin edge of the law and with the right to free speech, but that’s the downside of living in a free society — some will abuse that freedom. It’s not worth putting everyone’s rights at risk just to shut these idiots up through the coercive power of the state. (Besides, as we’ve seen with Roeder, it doesn’t stop the assholes from proselytizing anyway.)
The best way to deal with the Randall Terrys of the world is to shine a light on them and hold them up for ridicule. Sooner or later society gets the idea and marginalizes such people of its own volition.
