Following the study last spring that 
revealed “endemic” child abuse at Catholic church-run childcare institutions in Ireland, a new report confirms that the abuse was/is(?) even worse than suspected:
DUBLIN — A shocking new report has identified hundreds of victims of child sex abuse by Irish Catholic priests, officials said Tuesday, two months after a landmark study found “endemic” mistreatment.
A government-appointed commission of investigation headed by a judge has been probing allegations of abuse by priests in the archdiocese of Dublin — the country’s biggest — since March 2006.
Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin has warned that the report — presented to Justice Minister Dermot Ahern on Tuesday — would “shock us all.“ [...]
A spokeswoman for the archdiocese said the Church authorities had identified between 400 and 450 people that allege they were abused by one of 152 Dublin priests since 1940.
“I would like to stress that that is a very conservative estimate and is likely to rise,” she told AFP.
In other news, Pope Ratzi declares the Catholic church is unyielding in its position that all evil 9-year-old slut-children who force older men to impregnate them will be sentenced to death by exploding uterus… no exceptions!

So…how long before the Catlick Church abuses Ireland’s shiny new anti-blasphemy law to suppress reports like this?
JAB – Hmm, hard to say. I don’t know if saying things against the church is considered blasphemy, although to Catholics, it might be, since the focus of their worship is a little different (not just God and JC, but the “Mother Church” itself is considered sacred).
But, not all fundies agree.
Bill Donohue sure seems to think so. I’m sure he’s pressuring the Irish Catholic Church to file blasphemy charges as we speak.
