Let me address this.
Science: You’re Doing It Wrong.
What I saw in that link was an analysis of an analysis of an analysis of a “study” published in the journal “Trends in Ecology and Evolution”. And yes, I am using the term “review” very loosely. I’ll critique your comment in numbered points because I think it’s more fun that way.
1. Learn the differences between a primary and secondary source. It’s important for more reasons that I’m willing to get into in this post. I’m posting the primary (original source) of the article in question. The information in this article would be considered a secondary source if you were to reference it because it is a literature review.

This is not a study. It is a literature review. Learn the difference. You are right though, it is scientific, though not beyond critique.
3. Correlation does not prove causation. The correlation of the pill and choice in mate doesn’t prove any causation. Here’s what the review actually says:
“For example, all but one study are based on between-
subjects designs, thus not controlling for possible
pre-existing differences in pill and non-pill users (Table 1).
We thus suggest the need for further studies using within individual designs, and investigating whether general
differences between pill users and non-users account for
the effect of the pill on mate preferences.”
Translation: No firm conclusions can be made about the effect “The Pill” has on mating selections until further research is done that actually isolates the effect from other potential phenomenon.
Translation of Translation: You can’t actually say the pill causes women to choose effeminate men. In fact, this literature review does not even contain the word effeminate.
4. The article actually says the opposite of your assessment that “the birth control pill makes women more attracted to wimpy, effeminate men”.
From the article:
“In a long-term context, the pill might not
interfere with a woman’s preferences but rather with the
ability of a woman to compete for, or to retain, her preferred
mate resulting from a potentially decreased attractiveness,
as compared to normally cycling women”
6. Just because you read it on the internets doesn’t make it true, nor does it make in untrue. Only critical thinking can help you distinguish the difference.
