On a related note, o solo mama wonders why this organization is selling “adopting out” children for such disparate fees: $15K for an African-American boy, and $39K for a “caucasian child of unknown gender”.

As the proud, loving, doting auntie of an adopted nephew, these Xtian orgs that exploit pregnant women and sell their lily white babies for 2x + that of other babies make me sick. That’s what it is – selling babies, not facilitating an adoption.

This has given new meaning to the phrase “Every life is precious” that I’ve heard so often from pro-lifers. Apparently every child is precious, but these free market, christian fundies have determined that a white child is $14K more precious than a, as CTZen so eloquently put it, an off white child.
Why am I not surprised?
The reason the woman’s face is not shown is because her identity does not matter; she does not count.
Only that swollen uterus and its contents are important to these people.
The further in I go and look at additional links, the more
stomach-churning it becomes.
What’s worse is the extortionate rates they charge.
They call themselves Christian?
Why is it that those who brand themselves Christian

But don’t you know, it’s not that the white baby is worth more than the black baby, it’s that the assholes that frequent “Christian” organizations for their adoption needs will clearly need an incentive to adopt a black baby!
Actually, it’s sorta true. Sadly. I knew a lady who was pro-life and anti-choice. When she got pregnant and didn’t want to be, she went to one of the groups that she’d been advocating for. When she told them the baby would be half-black, they turned her away. They simply couldn’t find adoptive parents for babies that aren’t white. They’d tried and failed for so long, they couldn’t guarantee her anything. She found the same issue wherever she went. She ended up finding a private adoptive parent. She’s now pro-life and pro-choice.
I get a kick out of you Dead Babies R Us crew, all of a sudden your concerned about adopted children, meanwhile you vile monsters set up shop in minority districts so you can exterminate black unborn children. You work for the devil, evil is your name.

I vaguely recall reading something that linked one of these “CPCs” to an adoption agency & thought it sounded like it could be a fairly heavy situation, but then I promptly forgot about it. Good for you for exposing this one.

Luna – Sadly, it is true that it’s the customers who dictate these practices, but it doesn’t surprise me coming from the kind of people who’d patronize a fundie adoption service. But there’s something wrong with an adoption service that would pander to those instincts.
Torontonian – The rates are incredible! Obviously they’re in it for the money — which is okay, if you’re a business and paying taxes like one, but with the overt religiosity it seems likely that this particular agency has some kind of charitable tax status.
And the prices mean that they’re not just making money, they’re making BIG money. Someone needs to check their financials.

They can deny it all they want, but actions speak louder than words. That’s why they started the “abortion hurts women” slogan — because it was becoming so obvious that women are nothing but ambulatory incubators and too many people were calling them on it.
At least they’re consistent, in spite of all the snappy slogans, it’s obvious they haven’t changed a bit.

That’s what they do, only they call it a “Crisis Pregnancy Center” and set up across the street from womens’ clinics, because that’s where the pregnant women are! Talk about a target-rich environment.

That’s exactly what it is, and at a HUGE profit. I know someone who adopted a baby from Korea, and the cost was much less than what they’re selling their caucasian babies for — domestically! With no travel costs, etc. This is purely profit-driven, and they’re making money hand over fist. I’d like to know what their tax status is.
