Torontonian – Ya think? There seems to be a lot of interest in this book, at least in some parts of the world. But you could be right — I can’t think of any other reason for putting it on sale so soon.

Well Stephen King’s new novel is also selling for $14.50 – 59% off. Dan Brown’s new one is also 59% off and is selling for 12 something. Amazon.ca seems to be discounting books only 40%, from a higher original price point.
They had to slash the price after people discovered it didn’t have an Index and refused to buy it be because any book is useless without an Index.
At least that’s my explanation but I’m biased.

I was at Borders in Plattsburgh, NY on Tuesday. The book was 40% off on a big display right as you walked in the store. Bleh…
A HarperCollins insider told The Daily Beast that the book sold a staggering 300,000 copies on the first day alone!!!

Oh, I have no doubt Palin’s book will be (at least) a million seller. That was sort of why I was questioning why Amazon, Borders etc. would cut the price.

SQ – It looks like this is just some seasonal marketing thing, nothing to do with the book itself. It still surprises me they’d do it just before Christmas, but maybe they don’t want to have tons of books in the clearance bins in January. (Which isn’t a reflection on Palin’s book at all.)
