Before I was struck down in the prime of life with an unspeakably hideous illness last week, I had been trying to co-ordinate a contest. Remember? “The Craziest Bloggers of 2009″? Right. Pffffft.
I had hoped for it to be a non-partisan thing, bringing together nominees from both (all?) sides of the ‘sphere, and a winner representing each side, however… there were only about 10 nominees, and all but one were right-wingnuts. Due to the dearth of leftard nominations, that category has been nuked. (Thanks for playing, wingers. Geez, ya think??)
The contest appears to be an Unmitigated Flop, but so what? Maybe we can still salvage the thing and have a little fun with it. In that spirit, the nominees are:

This is a really tough call. You have (if I may say so) a truly outstanding list of Canadian Reich Wing Whackjobs. I think that Dodo is just plain old nuts as is the illiterate (and mudfortunate)Dr. Roy. By themselves they stand out, but when grouped with the others on the list, not so much. HOWEVER, SUZY ALLCAPS, I believe, is in a “class” of her own. Managing to somehow blame everything, and I mean everything in life, on abortion truly takes a “special” person! I nominate The Big Blue Fetus.
Let face it, someone who can post a blog on “The Fetus in 19th Century Symbolist Art” deserves an award. GO SUZY!!!!!

Indeed, JJ, I too have always felt the sweetest compliments were the ones I paid myself.

SQ – Any of her posts could serve as a good example (or a horrible warning) of the retrograde brain damage induced by huffing jars of formaldehyde.
The post that I felt best showed her “ideology over reality” mindset was the one about the woman who supposedly killed her newborn and wasn’t charged with the crime because the umbilical cord was still attached. Every anti-choice site on the net was flogging that completely bullshit story — LGF debunked it and even had a couple of lawyers who commmented and confirmed that it was bullshit, there was no such law, and that the officer who started the story probably had an anti-choice agenda he was pushing.
When this was pointed out to SUZANNE, rather than post a retraction she closed the post to further comments and made it so nobody could read the old comments with the links to LGF. Now that’s what I call blind batshit insanity.

Since I suggested SUZANNE, sticking with my nomination indicates that I should vote for her.
By redirecting her blog to fetus pron, and blaming EVERYTHING on abortion, she is trying to create “Instant Find-the-Problem” and shut down debate by doing the thinking for you. This recent stunt shows why she is eminently deserving of “winning”.

balb – Nono, this is not closing arguments yet. I thought I’d try and resurrect this thing one more time and see if we could still have some fun with it in spite of it not going as well as I’d hoped. Extreme lack of response from the rightward side — tsk tsk.
