Wingnuts play their own

Yeah, let’s talk about “angry fascist mobs” shutting down free speech, you little freak:

“But there were ‘concerns’, you see, for ‘public safety’.” Ooooh… do I detect a tone of sarcasm?

The “concerns” mocked by this half-bright little dimtwit were expressed by the organizers of the event, not the university.  The decision to shut down the event was made by the organizers of the event, not the university.  So this bozo should properly take his beefs to the organizers of the event

Organizers for the American’s tour of Canada scrubbed her much-anticipated speech at the University of Ottawa when students crowded the entrance before her arrival. A spokesman for the organizers said about 2,000 “threatening” students posed a security threat to the darling of the American right, and she was advised against appearing.

“It would be physically dangerous for Ann Coulter to proceed with this event,” said conservative political activist Ezra Levant inside Marion Hall.

…not the university.

Since the odds of that happening are about 99.9 to zee-row against, I have to ask:  how’s it feel to be played by your own side, dumbass?

Like FAIL on steroids, I bet!

C__tler would have sex with a Great Dane on Main Street in Miami if it got her a few cameras and microphones. Of course this is exactly the kind of a stunt she’d pull.

C’mon, jj, you’re too smart for conspiracy theories or digressing into what picky debates about what level of authority did what. Here’s a well-grounded, non-partisan eye-witness:

Now, stop dissembling. Either you think Ann Coulter should be allowed to speak in Canada or not. Declare yourself, Madam! Life’s full of tough choices.

    Peter

    Declare yourself, Madam!

I have already done so :P

I’m just finding this whole thing a little too precious to believe. Coulter faces down protesters all over America, and her bodyguard gets spooked by a few Canadian students? ;) :P

Thanks for the link, though. That is a good account.

Paycheck is a fucking marble brain. Free speech wasn’t banned, fercrissake — it was celebrated!

Or is somebody laboring under the mistaken impression that Coulter is the only one allowed to speak?

Not if the Great Dane has any say in the matter.

    Well, well, well….

Look like the Administration of the University of Ottawa just called out Ms. Coulter and her band of Merry Sycophants.

The University of Ottawa would have been more accepting to Osama Bin Laden. Wimps.

If one of the organisers is the infamous Ezra Munchkin then I understand why the whole thing collapsed as it did.

The whole exercise was about as well thought out as a TeaParty function and the spelling on their placards.

They keep shooting themselves in the foot and wonder why
people still are laughing at them.

Apparently Coren was all ga-ga starry eyed and bandy legged with Coulter on his program. He gets that with with his
idols. I wonder how many watched.

Coulter’s people refused to be on a talk radio program
because there wasn’t any guarantee of sympathetic questions from Jim Richards on CFRB. Bill Carroll would have been
a shoo-in but he’s now in Los Angeles.

Imagine if Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity came north what
    the fallout would be like!

    Jasper.

Please click through on the above link.

It was most definitely not the fine folks from the U of O who were the wimps.

    OK?

May we see your validating equations, or are they stuck to the toilet paper?

Janus – Drama Queens of the highest order, each and every one of them.

Of course this is exactly the kind of a stunt she’d pull.

It’s unlikely she knows enough about Canada to know the issues we’ve been having with HRCs and the like, but the organizers of her event certainly do and this kind of stunt is right up their alley.

Not bad — it worked, right?

Unfortunately a few of them lost their grip on reality and succumbed to Dramaqueenitis.

RossK – Whoops, a sternly-worded press release from the grownups’ table… “No further comments will be issued”. Ha!

  15. 15 JJ Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 10:30 pm

Jasper, the university didn’t cancel her show, her own organizers did. Try to keep up, buddy!

They keep shooting themselves in the foot and wonder why people still are laughing at them.

Just a matter of making hay while the sun shines ;) and why not? I’m glad to see some of them admit that they consider students engaging in a healthy exercise in dissenting free speech to be an “angry fascist mob”. We are all teabaggers now!

“The University of Ottawa would have been more accepting to Osama Bin Laden. Wimps.”

Oh, hell…for that matter, I’d be more accepting of bin Laden. At least he’s dead. And I’ve never heard of a corpse whining about non-existent violations of their “human” rights…

    ObL is dead????

When did this happen? Has General McChrystal been told?

  19. 19 rev.paperboy Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 2:04 am

OBL is not dead, he’s running a 7-11 in Omaha
