Speaking of right-wing terrorism, here’s a little item that will reaffirm your faith in the inherent goodness of the human race… NOT.
Yesterday the campaign manager for Arkansas Democrat Ken Aden arrived home with his kids to find the family cat dead on the porch, with the word “LIBERAL” scrawled on its side in felt pen.

Can the state of politics in the USA degenerate any further?
One shudders to imagine.

The picture actually isn’t that “graphic”, it’s just an obviously dead cat (no blood or anything like that). The writing on him was what was so shocking to me
It’s just another example of what partisanship and the party system have in store for us – given a few more election cycles we will see that sort of thing happening here because hyper-partisans are not bright enough to learn from it.

But yes, this is where hyperpartisanship ultimately goes: opponents being demonized to the point where they’re considered not only subhuman, but so evil that they deserve to have horrible things done to them. And nobody ever learns, it just perpetuates the Us vs. Them.

The Nazi’s demonized the Jews till they where considered subhuman, we all know how that turned out (shudder).
I couldn’t click through either. Killing harmless animals is psychopathic. Makes you wonder what kind of supporters Ken Aden’s opponent attracts. (And it being Arkansas, I wouldn’t be surprised if the killer considers himself/herself a XTIAN.)
I feel so bad for the Aden family. I’d be traumatized if I came home to that.

It’s because of all those right-wing blogs saying that the USA is doomed if that commie, America hating, Muslim, Kenyan gets another term in office. The same idiots that boo a decorated soldier just because he is gay.
It seems like some of the right-wing down there has fallen into the grip of some kind of long-term psychotic episode. And the hyperpartisanship that stageleft talked about above is totally to blame.

Good point: knowing the word “LIBERAL” isn’t in itself proof of literacy.

This kind of thing happens a lot down there?? Good grief. 
Actually, not that frequently, but if I were a public figure who had indoor/outdoor cats, this incident would make me bring them inside post haste.
My first comment should’ve read “This is why I’m glad my brother’s cat is a strictly-indoor cat.”
Ah, that’s a relief.
But yeah, if I were a public officeholder I’d think twice about letting pets run loose, lest they fall victim to the eliminationist tendencies that seem to be on the rise in politics these days.
