I did not watch it, there was a benefit concert for Attawapaskat last night that I went to instead….. but even if I would have had nothing to do last night I wouldn’t have paid any attention to a foreign head of state’s propaganda statement.
That sounds like a better use of time.
I only caught the last 15 minutes or so and part of the GOP response, but you make a good point: why do so many Canadians watch it? It really has nothing to do with us. I can only assume it’s because of the drama and insanity that seems to surround US politics. (At least that’s what draws my attention.)
A goodly number of Canadian political bloggers not only watched it, but they blogged it, and then fought with their Canadian ideological opposites about it.
It’s pointless, America doesn’t care, American political bloggers don’t care, and if some of the stuff I read is correct Obama doesn’t care – at least not enough to even mention Canada during his talk.
Yeah, I thought so too.
Giffords’ resignation has been very emotional for everyone: some of the Republicans gave lovely, heartfelt statements about her.
Looks like Gabby’s done what nobody else could, brought Ds and Rs together.
Heh. When I contemplate how much attention some of us give US politics, I’m sometimes reminded of this old cartoon
