Irony so thick you could cut it with a jackhammer

A video that made the rounds a few years back showed anti-choice protesters being asked what punishment women should get for terminating a pregnancy, if indeed abortion is “murder” and should be outlawed.  Predictably, no answers were forthcoming:

Why is that, you might wonder.  Given that the fetus fetishists’ end game is the criminalization of a common medical procedure, one would think they’d have an answer to the obvious question of what kind of legal sanctions should be imposed on anyone who Breaks the Rules. But in spite of all the time they spend obsessing about it, the anti-choice position is just not very well-thought-out.  It’s irrational, emotional, largely driven by religious ideology and almost always inspired on some level by a punitive, authoritarian brand of misogyny so vile and repugnant that few are willing to cop to it.

Which brings me to the Fetus Puke-a-van‘s Stephanie Gray.

Interviewed Monday on Kelowna’s CBC-radio affiliate, Gray had no compunction about exposing herself as a punishment freak of the highest order, and proud of it.  Asked what should happen to women who have abortions after the dawn of her Brave New World wherein womens’ rights are a historical footnote, she didn’t miss a beat (at about 4:47 on the audio):

“Once abortion becomes illegal, I would say the consequences for a woman who has an abortion at that point, breaking the law, would be no different from the consequences for a woman who kills her born children.”

The interviewer pointed out that this would mean life in prison, and Gray added that it would “depend on the circumstances”, and allowed that some women may instead be written off as “clinically insane”.  You know, like women who drown their kids in a bathtub.

I’d say the irony’s so thick you could cut it with a knife.  However, I seriously doubt that modern metallurgy has advanced to the point where there exists a tempered steel sufficiently unyielding to cut through the irony of a sick, warped and twisted, fetus-obsessed little fuck who drives around in a truck festooned with  gross images of surgical tray contents calling anyone else “clinically insane”.

A paintball gun loaded with dogshit? She is sufficiently dog-like already, and I have a sneaking suspicion that she probably has tried to force some male, any male, to do it with her (doggy style?) so that she can experience her own transcendent motherhood…or something like that..where’s her birth certificate, anyway, or at least her kennel papers?

Are the younger breed of rabid anti-choice women influenced by their own parents? Or is this some twisted rebellion against sane secularism? In the past, the pro-fetus movement was by and large led by white middle aged men who seemed to detest their freedom. I’m just trying to figure out where this new crop came from.

It’s still largely led by old men, from what I can see of their demonstrations. The notable exception is the March for Life, which has a younger profile because all those busloads of students are bribed to attend. So who knows what they really think about it? Fetus fetishists like these kids on the bus are a real anomaly.

The ideology of the parent doesn’t necessarily replicate itself in the child — sometimes just the opposite — so if that’s what they’re hoping will sustain their movement, they’re SOL. (If it was true, they’d have more than 20% of the population on their side by now.)

@cityprole – Looks are only skin deep, underneath it all Stephanie Gray is as ugly as sin. That and a cackling busy body.

I await the day one of these morons calls an abortion provider a murderer. Maybe that would keep their stupid rhetoric down a little.

Weird. I thought insanity pleas were invented by those wacky criminal-loving leftists. Who knew the anti-choice crowd would want them around too?

If you don’t think the punishment for abortion should be the same as first-degree murder, then you clearly don’t think abortion is murder. Fairly simple reasoning there.

Exactly. It’s because they know in their heart of hearts that an embryo is NOT the same as a living person.

After George Tiller was assassinated, there were obviously many uncomfortable moments for the fetushists and they were all going to great lengths to denounce the murder. Then NatPo columnist Colby Cosh (a pro-choice libertarian-conservative type) wrote a column challenging them as to why they would denounce the murder if they really thought a fetus was equal to a 1-yr old baby. Because if some loon was actually killing 1-yr-old babies, anyone in their right mind would feel obliged to stop him, even by deadly force. So why the denouncements if Tiller was supposedly “killing babies”?

The bobbing and weaving in the comments section of that article was breathtaking to behold.

CCBR anti-choicers got egged while protesting abortion in Kelowna, they must of been horrified, those eggs could of become chicks.

All of the argumentum ad hominem in these comments – and the absence of factual, logical argument – is telling. Canada’s time as one of the few countries in the world with no restrictions on abortion throughout pregnancy will end up being a short-lived footnote. The pro-lifers, with their principled efforts, are in the right.

      Fail.

The factual, logical argument — so logical & factual that it goes without saying — is that it’s none of the state’s business what medical procedures citizens choose to have.

What’s “telling” is that it never occurs to you nanny-statist law-happy hairshirt punishment freaks that maybe Canada is ahead of everyone else in that we’re no longer mired in the ridiculous religious muck that produces stupid retrograde policies like “abortion laws”. We’ve figured out that there’s no need for such absurd, intrusive legislation, and in fact women and doctors are perfectly capable of making these decisions without the state’s “helpful” intervention.

And unfortunately for you lot, after 24 years the statistics (logical facty things that they are) bear that out.

      But thanks for the input.

stephanie grey is an idiot. I listened to an interview she gave to some alberta radio station, and she actually went so far as to say that (and I paraphrase): “most abortions occur within the first trimester, AND THOSE ARE THE ONES WE WANT TO STOP”

    did ya read that?
she acknowledges that the majority of abortions are FIRST TRIMESTER
and those are the ones she WANTS TO STOP
she then went on to describe the horrors of ‘fetuses being ripped apart’ but then says that what she really wants to do is stop first trimester abortions.

    what.the.fuck!
so basically she likes to use the horror of late term abortions ‘babies ripped into pieces by sadistic abortioneers’ then reveals her true motive which is to stop the abortions where a clump of cells is vacuumed out.

I bet she is opposed to contraception too!
