A teachable moment, wasted

That the anti-choice movement has an image problem (or as they might prefer to call it, an “unborn image solution”) is undeniable:  that  whole “dead doctor” thing is like a ball and chain.   So, especially in the wake of Dr.Tiller’s murder, it only makes sense that they’d take any and every opportunity to call out the psychotic extremists that they claim inhabit only the “fringe” of the movement.

In a post about euthanasia over at SUZANNE’s, new (at least to me) commenter “Jill” projectile vomits her 2cents worth of “murder, blood & body  of Christ, killing the unborn and murdered children ” rhetoric all over the page.

HaloScan.com - Comments_1248824467107

I posted my comment on the euthanasia issue, then threw on the metaphorical hip waders and slogged through the blood, guts and bullshit in “Jill’s” comment.  Hovering over her “homepage” link (never click because you never know when you’ll be greeted by fetus pron and/or an eyeball-shatteringly MASSIVE font in the header banner), I recognized the URL as that of a commenter who recently visited the blog of an abortion provider and left this comment:

Post Anti-Abortion Syndrome_1248830147089

Wow.  Anyone catch the irony of Jill/bayouchild scolding the doctor for blogging under a “bogus name and no picture” and then basically saying “Hope someone stalks and kills you!”?  Talk about answering your own question.

So I decided to post another comment calling out Jill/bayouchild on her deranged hypocrisy and linking to her comment at Passionate Provider’s blog:

HaloScan.com - Comments_1248813027746

This was more than just me calling out an anti-choicer on her disgusting hypocrisy.  It was an opportunity for other anti-choicers to stand up to one of the “fringe extremists” to whom their movement is supposedly opposed.  To say: Hey.  That wasn’t cool.  Wishing people dead is not what our movement is about. A “teachable moment”, so to speak.

Predictably, this morning I found that only my comment about euthanasia made the moderation cut — hands up everyone who’s surprised! — so I posted another one which probably also won’t be allowed:

HaloScan.com - Comments_1248882695157

Or maybe it’s just that “Jill/bayouchild’s” views aren’t all that extremist.  At least that’s how it looks from where I sit.

Hee. I am about to write about one of my comments being moderated away there too.

It does not cease to amaze me how they just don’t geddit about the language and the threats and the bloody images.

But as you say, JJ, works for me too.

  2. 2 JJ Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 11:11 am

fern hill – It was a lost opportunity for SUZANNE. This is exactly what the anti-choice movement needs to do if they want to repair their trashed credibility — call people out for their violent bullshit.

It’s one thing to cry crocodile tears and denounce Scott Roeder and his ilk, it’s quite another to actually confront someone who’s spreading eliminationist rhetoric and tell them to STFU.

  3. 3 joe agnost Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 11:13 am

The fact that they’re SO dense, and refuse to learn, really works well for us don’t it! 🙂

  4. 4 JJ Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 11:20 am

joe agnost – All part of God’s Plan, joe. The LORD works in mysterious ways. God’s will. Etc.

I left this comment at Suzie-All-Caps’ place.

You’re missing the point of JJ’s comment, SUZANNE. You’re the one who keeps insisting that the Scott Roeders of the world don’t speak for the anti-choice movement, and yet when JJ offers you the perfect opportunity to prove your point by denouncing one of your commenters who has been proven to be spreading eliminationist rhetoric, you spike JJ’s comment and hide behind the red herring of “not wanting the disucssion hijacked by a personal dispute.”

That suggests to me that the eliminationist wing of the anti-choice movement is more mainstream than some are willing to admit.

Who wants to lay odds that it won’t see the light of day?

Not that that would be a bad thing, considering the fact that I misspelled “discussion.”

I think you’d be in luck in Jill/bayouchild’s case – she completely futzed the URL, so all it will lead you to is a 404 page.

    Here’s the URL Jill/bayouchild provided:

    http://htpp//bayouchild.wordpress.com

  7. 7 JJ Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 12:10 pm

JAB – God, these people are fucking stupid. “htpp” 🙄 She managed to spell “http” correctly at PP’s blog. At any rate, it’s the same URL, same psycho.

Your comment won’t make the cut, I almost guarantee it.

  8. 8 J. A. Baker Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 12:15 pm

I have noticed that SHE only seems to allow comments from lefties that SHE thinks she can debunk.

  9. 9 JJ Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 12:19 pm

It’s too bad she got into this comment moderation thing. I spend way less time there than I used to, just because wtf’s the point of making a comment if you’re not sure it’ll see the light of day? Comment mod is bullshit.

That said, she was always pretty good about allowing anything (within reason, no swearing or abusing people), but she seems to have gotten a lot pickier lately.

  10. 10 J. A. Baker Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 12:27 pm

Well, what do you know, my comment made it through, misspelling and all.

  11. 11 JJ Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 1:47 pm

Well there you go. Sometimes SUZANNE relents 😉 Her place was better before though, when she allowed everything through. She didn’t start moderating until after Dr.Tiller was killed, and when the Tiller comments faded away, she just kept doing it.

Her place was more interesting before. Nothing like comment mod to crush the mood.

  12. 12 CWTF Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 2:00 pm

    SUZANNE is an enabler.

She can neigh like a donkey all she wants, but you have a feeling that pearl clutching hypocrite enjoyed the murder of Dr. Tiller.

  13. 13 JJ Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 2:07 pm

CWTF – Anyone who ever used the expression “Tiller the Killer” is an enabler.

I’m sure that in a way she *means* it when she says that she denounces the killing, but at the same time, it probably made her inner thigh tingle a bit. It was likely something she had to deal with at Confession 😉

  14. 14 brebis noire Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 3:35 pm

“Well there you go. Sometimes SUZANNE relents Her place was better before tough, when she allowed everything through. She didn’t start moderating until after Dr.Tiller was killed, and when the Tiller comments faded away, she just kept doing it.”

The way I remember it, it was her extremely unadvised “outing” of CC that set her scared, and caused her to start moderating in earnest.

  15. 15 JJ Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 7:47 pm

brebis – But she didn’t out CC, she just helped publicize it (which is still slimy).

Sort of like she didn’t kill Dr. Tiller, she just *helped*

I could be wrong, but it seems to me she started moderating after she got a huge rush of negative response to her thread “condemning” Dr. Tiller’s murder. But the thing with CC happened a couple of weeks later, so I could be wrong.

  16. 16 bayouchild Sunday, August 23, 2009 at 11:10 pm

Actually, Tiller wasnt murdered. It was just a very late term abortion. Dont like what I sadi? fuck you

  17. 17 JJ Monday, August 24, 2009 at 2:15 am

Oh hello Jill, you murderous brainless little fetus fetishizing twat.

    “a very late term abortion”

Ha… long pause… ha. Got any lines that don’t have an inch of dust on them?

No, I don’t like what you “sadi”, but I would defend to the death your right to “sady” it.

    Cretin.

  18. 18 bayouchild Monday, August 24, 2009 at 7:24 am

The fact that you spend hours bashing other people on their blogs screams of unresolved guilt from an abortion. The fact that you have to resort to name-calling only illustrates it. How many abortions have you had? Your pedantic ramblings aren’t fooling anyone. If you are so certain abortion is a morally correct choice, prove to the world why it isn’t murder. Go ahead, take another bong hit and fire away. The world is listening, oh wise one. The burden of proof is on you as to why abortion isnt murder, Go ahead, Prove it.

  19. 19 J. A. Baker Monday, August 24, 2009 at 7:53 am

Look out, JJ, one of SUZANNE’s unhinged minions has found your blog!

Counting down to Jill/bayouchild recommending that JJ get Roedered in 3…2…1…

  20. 20 JJ Monday, August 24, 2009 at 8:15 am

No, Dumbass Jill, it is not incumbent on someone to prove what “isn’t” — the burden of proof lies with whoever suggests something “is”.

Prove you’re not a child molester. Get it now?

Debating 101. Look it up before further engagement of those gaping, drooling mandibles of yours.

  21. 21 JJ Monday, August 24, 2009 at 8:17 am

JAB – Go easy on poor Jill 😉 it’s not nice to make fun of a dining room table.

  22. 22 deBeauxOs Monday, August 24, 2009 at 8:39 am

Wow, such intense hostility from bayouchild.

Hey “bayouchild/Jill”, the fact that you spend hours bashing other people on their blogs screams of unresolved fury and suppressed fury over a forced pregnancy. The fact that you have to resort to name-calling only illustrates it. How many pregnancies have you been forced to carry? Your incoherent ramblings aren’t fooling anyone. If you are so certain that pregnancy should be enforced and is not a choice, prove to the world that you’re not a child abuser. Go ahead, take your prescription drugs and fire away. The world is listening, oh zealot one. The burden of proof is on you as to why you don’t hate and harm the children you’re forced to bear. Go ahead, prove it.

  23. 23 bayouchild Monday, August 24, 2009 at 8:43 am

I havent been forced-as a matter of fact im pregnant right now. I also dont harm my children. Still cant prove abortion is morally correct. can you? Because you cant. Prove it. Go ahead. If calling names is the best you can do you have already proven me right. Quit deflecting and show us proof that abortion isnt murder. Go on.

  24. 24 bayouchild Monday, August 24, 2009 at 8:44 am

How many abortions have you had, “JJ”? No answer?

  25. 25 deBeauxOs Monday, August 24, 2009 at 9:24 am

    Bayouchild/Jill:

    You can’t prove a negative.

However I can tell you this: I have carried a pregnancy to term in hope and joy. I gave birth to my daughter. I raised her.

I do not believe that terminating a pregnancy is murder. Every women has the right to carry a pregnancy to term or to terminate it. It’s that basic and simple. I can choose to give life or I can choose not to give life.

Every woman has the right to that choice. That means in some cases, women will require medical support if pregnancy is not possible because of physiological obstacles. As others will need medical support if pregnancy must be terminated.

    We are not human incubators.

  26. 26 bayouchild Monday, August 24, 2009 at 9:29 am

If you are not choosing life, you are choosing death for another. Its just as simple as that. Murder. Nothing but the same old tired prochoice rhetoric and dodging here. At least you didnt call names. Props for that. Yawn. What do you think your uterus is for?

  27. 27 deBeauxOs Monday, August 24, 2009 at 9:52 am

We are as bored with your hysterical zealotry as you are seemingly irritated by our reason and logic.

You have a brain. What do think it’s for?

We all have brains and use them in different ways. If you prefer to have religious dogma taking up the space that other women use for rational thinking, that is your choice.

  28. 28 Bayoufriend Monday, August 24, 2009 at 10:51 am

If flaming others is the best you can do, so much for your “progressive” thinking. Cya.

  29. 29 bayouchild Monday, August 24, 2009 at 11:02 am

I couldnt agree more! Why feed the trolls? Putting others down is all they know. The only reason they visit Suzannes blog in the first place is to argue. Thats a liberal for ya. Later, losers.

  30. 30 fern hill Monday, August 24, 2009 at 11:09 am

    *AHEM*

What is it with conservative Christians and their need to piss on everything the central figure of their religion taught?

  33. 33 JJ Monday, August 24, 2009 at 1:48 pm

Good grief, Jabbering Jill’s still at it? 😆 Meds, stat!

Get a life, you fascist cunt. You’ll be a lot happier 🙂
