Fetusmobile involved in Road Rage incident

UPDATED!!! (Sunday August 16)

I can imagine whafetusmobile.jpg (JPEG Image, 450x319 pixels)_1250364219813t the Usual Suspects would be thinking/hoping if they saw that headline:  another hapless fetus fetishist, innocently tooling along in his fetusmobile and screaming out the window at the top of his lungs about the Tubesock Holocaust, suddenly set upon by violent pro-abort extremists (most likely driving a much better and cooler vehicle, although that’s not saying much because even a Pacer would be cooler than the fetusmobile) who were driven into a frenzy by his “Truth Truck”.  But actually, that would be Wrong!:

An Iowa anti-abortion activist appeared in Oakland County court Thursday on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and felonious assault stemming from a June 13 arrest in Auburn Hills.

Dan Holman, 62, is accused of wielding a hammer in what he described as self-defense.

Self-defense?  According to Holman, here’s what transpired, sort of:

Holman and his wife had left a wedding in Michigan the day of his arrest and were driving in their van, which is covered with pictures of aborted fetuses. It is referred to as their “Truth Van.”

As Holman was driving, a vehicle with two people inside it pulled alongside the van. The passenger in the vehicle made an obscene gesture, then the vehicle swerved in front of the van and the driver slammed on the brakes, according to the statement from Missionaries.

The driver of the vehicle is accused of continuing such acts for the next 2 miles. At a stoplight, Holman asked the couple in the vehicle to leave them alone.

…Holman was arrested while the driver and passenger were allowed to leave the scene, according to the statement.

Hold the phone!  Holman and his wife were leaving a wedding?  In the fetusmobile??  Sure, why not?  Sounds totally normal to me…  But not so fast: isn’t some of the story is missing, like the part between “Leave us alone” and “I’m going to bash your skull in with this hammer”?  And what about this guy Holman?  Does that name sound eerily familiar?

If it does, that’s because this isn’t Mr. Holman’s first foray into the media spotlight.   Holman belongs to an Army of God associate group known as “Missionaries of the Pre-Born”, and he was interviewed by CNN following the murder of Dr. George Tiller.    Unfortunately, he had a difficult time containing his glee, understandable since he probably squirted in his crusty old-guy pants the second the news broke and every time he thought about it for weeks thereafter:

Holman made national headlines in June saying he didn’t advocate, but didn’t condemn the murder of Dr. George Tiller, whose women’s clinic in Kansas preforms abortions. “I was cheered by it because I knew that he wouldn’t be killing any more babies,” Holman told CNN.

Well, Onward Christian Soldiers to you too, fuckwad.  It should come as no surprise that someone who hangs out with vicious brain-damaged freaks like the Army of God would spiral into violence and go after someone with a hammer just for flipping them off in traffic.   But one other point of interest, if you please:  why would he take a hammer to a wedding in the first place?   In case the groom got cold feet?

UPDATE (Sunday): Well well well.  Commenter Reality Bites reports that there’s more — much more — to this incident than was reported yesterday.  In what will come as absolutely no surprise to anyone, it seems we have conflicting stories and omissions (and probably some e-missions from the fetus fetishist as he writhes in the throes of a persecution high).  One of the details Holman “forgot” to tell was that the “two people” in the car that supposedly flipped him the bird were actually a mother and her son.  Yep:  this demented asshole went after a mother and her child with a hammer:

Police say the woman contended she was on the interchange from Interstate 75 and northbound M-24 when the van pulled up behind her as she reached the intersection. The van, according to her statement, had its bright headlights on and the glare was affecting her driving.

The woman stated she honked her horn to get the driver’s attention and her son waved his arm out the passenger side window.

Police say the woman’s son later stated he was waving his arm in a downward motion to indicate the van’s lights should be dimmed.

It was after honking her horn that Holman is accused of getting out of the van and walking toward the woman’s Jeep, carrying a yellow hammer.

The woman told officers she drove off in an attempt to get away from Holman, but was stuck at a red light just west of the Palace of Auburn Hills.

The woman said Holman again pulled his van up behind the woman’s Jeep, got out and walked toward her vehicle, carrying the hammer.

The woman told officers he was outside her driver’s side door and began screaming, saying, “I’m going to drag (her son) out of the vehicle and kill him,” and “I’m going to get you.”

“I’m going to drag him out of the vehicle and kill him???  Hmm.  Holman left that part out of his statement, too… maybe it didn’t sound “pro-life” enough.  Obviously this is a case of severe bad craziness and violent mental illness from the criminally insane.  But what can you expect from anyone who thinks it’s cool to cruise around in one of these:fetus-mobile

Meanwhile, I’m wondering if he was actually a guest at this wedding he was supposedly coming home from, or as RB pointed out, if he was protesting the wedding.  We all know these people have zero fucking respect for anything, so they wouldn’t flinch at doing something as tacky and ignorant as protesting at a wedding.

And last but not least, the question of the hammer still remains — why is he driving around with a hammer, if not to be prepared to threaten anyone who gives him any static about the fetusmobile?  And how many times has he threatened other people and got away with it?

Bwaahahahahaha! Oh JJ, you’re too witty – and sexy – for a blog. You deserve a spot on SNL, at least.

  2. 2 Dr. Prole Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 3:46 pm

I’m still stuck at the part where he took his fetus festooned hoopty to a wedding.

I will never stop being amazed at the fact so many fully committed prolifers are either violent offenders or just run-of-the-mill bullies. Not surprised, mind you, just amazed at the continual predictability.

    deBeauxOs – Once a drrrty grrl, always a drrrty grrl 😉 😯

    Dr.Prole – What, you think that’s a little ODD? Noooo 😉 😆

brebis – Virtually all of them have personality problems of some kind. Look at the commenters over at BBW — like KEN?? — dumb as a bag of hammers and mean as a rattlesnake. It’s a personality type that always causes problems.

Which reminds me JJ, are you taking bets to see how long it takes for Splatrick to show up here – to promote his theory about how we are mean cheerleaders for those who would push back poor defenseless pro-lies foetishist bullies who somehow, in the course of enjoying their right to free speech, are injured? Or frightened. Or something.

Why take a hammer (or a fetusmobile) to a wedding?

Well we have nothing to indicate he was actually an invited guest at the wedding. For all we know he was protesting it. We only have his version of the events which are naturally going to be as favourable to him as possible.

Here’s a more recent article on the subject. The victim’s take on the events is rather different. The driver and passenger, by the way, were a woman and her son. I wonder why Holman so studiously left out the information that it was a woman and referred to the passengers as a couple. Could it be so as to leave the impression the driver was a hot-headed young man and his girlfriend?

Whoa! Just read RB’s link, and I must say I’m totally shocked – SHOCKED! that Holman sounds like a complete psycho with rage issues.

deBeauxOs – Mmm, somehow I don’t think Patrick will be defending this nut. Although you never know, he does like to be contrarian just for the sake of contrariness.

  11. 11 JJ Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 10:38 am

RB – AHAHAHAHAHA! Thanks for the link, that certainly clarifies things. I’m going to update momentarily.

You’re right about the wedding — they could have been protesting it for all we know. It could have been a clinic staffer’s or doctor’s wedding, and fetus fetishists have no shame at all when it comes to who they intrude upon.

  12. 12 JJ Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 10:41 am

Dr.Prole – 😆 I think the first clue that there’s some mental illness afoot would be the fact that the cretin is driving the fetusmobile. Once that level of insanity has been achieved, anything goes.

I wonder why he carries the hammer with him, though? Probably for when he gets negative reactions — I bet he does this kind of thing all the time, but nobody’s ever turned him in yet. (They don’t want a bevy of shrieking foetishists outside their homes.)

I wonder why he carries the hammer with him, though?

Big fan of Peter, Paul and Mary?

If I had a hammer… ooh ooh, ooh ooh

  15. 15 Calgal Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 7:17 am

I heard a story last week about the Fetusmobile in Calgary which likes to drive up and down 17th Avenue at rush hour. On its 5th pass by a certain restaurant patio, an annoyed patron grabbed a fist full of alcohol soaked fruit and winged it at the Fetusmobile hitting it smack on the windshield. Everyone on the patio cheered, the patron got invited onto someone’s baseball team and the driver continued on, saying the rosary as he drove. Is that like texting to God?

  16. 16 JJ Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 7:52 am

    calgal

the driver continued on, saying the rosary as he drove. Is that like texting to God?

When they’re surrounded by fetus porn in a fetusmobile &#0169 it’s considered “sexting” to God.

  17. 17 JJ Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 7:55 am

Ooops. ASCII not work. That’s supposed to be a “c” 😉

  18. 18 RealityBites Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 8:57 am

    It’s always the alcohol-fruit that suffers. 😦

  19. 20 RealityBites Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 8:58 am

    Erm, alcohol-soaked fruit, I mean

  20. 21 RealityBites Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 9:00 am

Erm, the first time I posted my correction it told me it looked like I’d just posted the same thing. I assumed it meant it wasn’t posted, so I changed it slightly (added on “I mean”) and posted it again.

I’m not really alcohol-soaked, appearances to the contrary.

  21. 22 JJ Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 9:01 am

Won’t someone think of the alcohol-soaked fruit?? 😥

  22. 23 croghan27 Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 4:02 am

    Hey ….

“most likely driving a much better and cooler vehicle, although that’s not saying much because even a Pacer would be cooler than the fetusmobile”

Don’t bad mouth Pacers … I used to have a station waggon and it was a terrific car.

  23. 24 JJ Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 7:17 am

croghan – A Pacer wagon would get a pass for being a utilitarian vehicle, but the little coupes, those things that looked like flying saucers? YECCH!

Of course, my requirements for vehicular coolness are fairly stringent — if it’s not a Mustang, Camaro, pickup truck or motorcycle, it’s not cool 😉

  24. 25 J. A. Baker Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 7:59 am

Ooops. ASCII not work. That’s supposed to be a “c”

You could always just use ©. 😆

  25. 26 J. A. Baker Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 8:16 am

Also, having a semicolon on the end helps. 😛 😆

  26. 27 JJ Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 8:20 am

    &copy ?

ETA – OK, I used to be able to do this, why won’t it work now?

    I’m typing in (without spaces of course) ” & # 0 1 6 9 ” — that used to make a copyright symbol. WTF?

    &#0169

    &#copy;

  27. 28 J. A. Baker Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 8:25 am

Yeah, “©” has the same effect as “©” – the copyright symbol (which is what I think you were going for).

  28. 30 JJ Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 8:28 am

    Yeah, that’s right!!

Okay, let me try it ©

    ETA – W00T! 8) ©

    Fetusmobile©

    thanks JAB!

  29. 31 J. A. Baker Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 8:30 am

    1) I don’t think you need the leading zero if you’re doing the hex code.

    2) if you’re using “©,” then you don’t need the number sign (#).

    This site should help.

  30. 32 J. A. Baker Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 8:31 am

Heh. Who knew I’d be able to use my undergrad training to help a fellow blogger?

  31. 33 JJ Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 12:11 pm

That’s awesome, thanks for the link. Way better than the ASCII table.
