    Good morrow, JJ!
The look on that dog’s face is priceless.
    “Take the damned picture, already!”
Just don’t turn your back and bend over anywhere near that mutt, Dude. Dogs remember.
If he only knew what goes into that hot dog – CTZen

CT – Isn’t it great!?? He looks like he’s in a panic to get that weiner off his nose 😆

  3. 3 fern hill Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 1:51 pm

Great pic. I hope, at the very least, she or he got to eat the wienie, no matter what is in it.

    What fern hill said.

Are you trying to make a point about dogs having more willpower than cats? Cause you’ll never ever see a cat sitting there balancing a weenie on her nose.
on the other hand, that weenie does look photoshopped 😉

I dunno, brebis noire. The curve is good. But then, I like a bit of curve. 😉

I’ve seen this trick in person, so I don’t really think it’s been photoshopped. Not my dog of course – she has no idea about dog tricks, though she learned very early to come when called, without fail.
The cats snicker every time she comes running.

fern hill – Oh, no doubt he got to eat the weinie. Nobody could resist that face.

  9. 9 JJ Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 5:27 pm

brebis – No!! No photoshop! It’s real!!! The look on that dog’s face just screams “There’s a weiner on my nose and I can’t have it!”

That dog is part border collie — smartest dog in the world. I bet he’d sit there all day like that (with drool running out of the sides of his mouth) if his owner told him to.

Dog’s part Lab too: you can read in the dog’s eyes the conflict between the Lab and the Border collie. The Lab really wants the weiner and the Border collie wants to complete the trick…

  11. 11 JJ Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 6:23 pm

brebis – For sure. Probably more lab than border collie, but enough border collie that he wants to rise to the challenge of keeping that weiner on his snout.

But look at his eyes 😆 he’s almost going cross-eyed looking at the thing

Yes, I’ve also seen that trick in person. Not with a weiner, though. Our old family dog, a fox terrier/collie mix, learned that trick with a piece of beef.

  13. 13 JJ Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 9:30 pm

A piece of beef! What a good doggie 😀 My dog has done it with a dog cookie, but not for long enough to get a picture.

  14. 14 Frank Frink Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 10:21 pm

Well, we didn’t make him wait forever but as soon as he heard OK that piece of beef vanished.

  15. 15 JJ Monday, August 17, 2009 at 6:55 pm

Ha! I bet! He probably just about chewed his nose off trying to get it!

The Herbert geek in me just did a spit check on my computer.

That was awesome. And just what I needed after dealing with forced-birthers.

Hi RQ! Yes, every so often our brains need something like this as a bit of a cerebral palate cleanser 😉 to wipe the residual wingnuttery away.

You’ve really got them in a tizzy at Jill’s! 😆 You can probably expect them to keep showing up for the next few days… gawd knows, these people have nothing better to do than busy themselves with other peoples’ business. But it appears you’ve come up with the ultimate fetus fetishist repellent: ask them to donate to actually help a real, out-of-the-womb child! 😯 😉 Well done.

  18. 18 Red Queen Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 10:14 pm

well I’m all about riling up the wingnuts- so I guess I’ve done my job.

  19. 19 JJ Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 7:26 am

RQ – Hey, that’s a good thing, kiddo! I once got Stanyuk’s attention too, before I even knew who she was, resulting in her commenters threatening me & my commenters with a “Full Scale 30-day Prayer Assault”. It was actually pretty funny if you want to read about it, the sad story starts here and carries on here.

Following that, I decided Stanky needed to be monitored on an ongoing basis, which resulted in me catching her in a dirty filthy LIE a few months ago when she tried to accuse Jesus’ General of threatening her life 😆

Yep, got a history there 8)

  20. 20 Red Queen Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 1:48 pm

A prayer assault? How awesome is that? OMG- I want one! And then I wanna channel all the negative energy created by wingnuts praying for my whorey soul into a winning lottery ticket from which a generous donation to planned parenthood will be made.

  21. 21 JJ Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 5:33 pm

RQ – Yes, a prayer assault 🙄 It was okay, we all wore our helmets and were on the lookout for IEPs (Improvised Explosive Prayers) by the side of the road.

Wait. What?
