Poe? Or no?

Living in the secular paradise of Canada, we’re bothered by the occasional fetus fetishist or some other variety of right-wingnut, but the truly batshit insane tend to be institutionalized or standing on street corners mumbling and shrieking and shaking their fists at the sky.  They’re seldom elected to political office, and on those rare occasions when they do weasel in, *cough*CherylGallant*cough*, our paranoid Prime Minister keeps them muzzled in the interest of political self-preservation.

Not so in the USA, where all manner of nutjobs can and do run for office on whacky platforms like “abortion, litter and paying city councillors a dollar a year”… in Jesus’ name, of course. If you think Cheryl Gallant’s a wingnut, check out Livonia, Michigan city council candidate Glenn Moon:

Ay-yi-yi, yi-yi-yi-yikes!   Okay:  Poe or no?

Jeez, listen to his inflection and pattern of speaking. What is this guy, the newest Conehead?

(With apologies to Jane Curtin and Dan Aykroyd.)

What a load of abrasive nattering!! I couldn’t make it through the whole vid.

  3. 3 fern hill Monday, August 24, 2009 at 6:42 pm

Ooo. I couldn’t make it through either.

Michigan? Isn’t that a border state? I thought border states were kinda infected with Canuckitude, you know, tolerance.

    Guess not.

    Unsettling.

Please don’t judge most of Michigan by this wacko. Although, we do seem to have a lot of religious crazy nutjobs. There are a lot of us that are a bit more civilized and Canucktitided — we just don’t end up on Pharyngula.

Agreed. In fact, given the high concentrations of religious whackadoodle loons in my home state, I’d suspect this moron of being a transplant from Texas.

Not a Poe, there are drugs for people with whatever he’s got.

  7. 7 Torontonian Monday, August 24, 2009 at 11:58 pm

Fern Hill asked if “that’s a border state”. And I say yes, it borders on demented.

    Good morrow, all!
The word, “Islam” is Arabic. It means, “submission to the will of God.” This man’s rant is a tirade calling for submission to the will of God. He is calling for Islam. Wonder if he knows that?

JAB – Hahahaha! Someone at pharyngula noticed that too.

  10. 10 JJ Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 7:16 am

sassy – Oh no, you missed the end?? 😆 😆

  11. 11 JJ Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 7:17 am

fern hill – Shit, if you guys didn’t make it to the end of the video, you missed the best part. I damn near flew out of my chair 😯

I guess great minds think alike, eh?

  13. 13 JJ Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 7:20 am

Michelle Bell – Oh, don’t worry, we’re familiar with the border states and we consider most of them (esp. Michigan and Minnesota) honourary Canadians 😛 We realize that these fundagelics make up a small minority.

But it shows how secular Canada really is… a guy like this could never run for any office up here, he’s just too batshit. Even our most batshit politicians *cough*CherylGallant*cough* pale in comparison.

Bruce – By the looks of this guy, I’d say he’s overdone the drugs. Time to come down.

😆 Only if he actually gets elected. Otherwise, Michigan is a great place, more civilized than the wilds of Texas that JAB manages to survive in.

Holy snapping batshit… that was like an SCTV sckit gone horribly, horribly wrong. We just need Tommy Shanks to come on next and calm everyone down.

  19. 19 JJ Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 8:20 am

Mike – Seriously. This guy is either a really good Poe, or mentally ill.

  20. 20 J. A. Baker Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 10:05 am

Okay, I managed to make it all the way through, and there were a couple of places where he sounded more like Tom Cruise on a Scientology proselytizing tour. Either that, or his infamous “I WANT THE TRUTH!” rant in A Few Good Men.

  21. 21 Great Aunty Bertha Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 12:33 pm

He made me think of the actor, Wally Shawn. I don’t know why, but this guy’s whole thing seemed like it should be some kind of satirical skit.

We watched to the end and laughed til we cried.

    What a nut-bar!

Oh, and he also reminded me of this:

  22. 22 J. A. Baker Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 2:08 pm

Now that I think about it, there is something else this Glenn Moon doofus reminds me of…

  23. 23 JJ Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 9:04 am

JAB – Did the end startle you? Maybe I’m just a nervous wreck, but it made me jump 😯 LET’S GO LIVONIA!!!

And thanks for the vids, LOL. I like the guy’s bike. Reminds me of an old Zap Comix character, Flakey Foont – he had a bathtubmobile.

  24. 24 JJ Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 9:11 am

GAB – HAHAHAHAHA!!! Very good, thanks. A pretty obvious Poe (I hope!?).

  25. 25 Kevin Waterman Monday, August 31, 2009 at 8:25 am

It’s hard to believe, but I think he makes more sense in this techno remix than he does in the original clip.

  26. 26 JJ Monday, August 31, 2009 at 3:21 pm

Kevin Waterman – OMFG, that’s awesome. Thanks!

  27. 27 Kevin Waterman Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 5:46 am

Not a problem, just doing everything I can to get this guy plastered across the net. Glad to see you like the video.

Wait. What?
