Order of Canada award recipients rally to protest against nuclear weapons:

Hundreds of Order of Canada recipients, representing some of the country’s leading scientific, cultural and political luminaries, are joining a growing global groundswell calling for a multilateral agreement to end the use of nuclear weapons.  […]

In recent months, a petition has been circulated to recipients of the Order of Canada urging support for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s calls for a multilateral nuclear disarmament treaty. Of the 3,215 living recipients of Canada’s highest civilian honour, 286 have signed on so far.

Looks like those Order of Canada recipients can muster a pretty good showing to protest an issue they feel strongly about.  Like last year, when a “blizzard” of Order of Canada awards were returned in protest of Dr. Morgentaler’s award.   How’d that work out, anyway?  400?  500?  Eleventy-thousand??  Err, oh…uh…*cough*seven (7)*cough* (not counting the two returned from beyond the grave).

Seven?? Seriously?

Bwahaha!  Fetus fetishists, the losingest losers in the Lose-O-Sphere.

Oooooooooooooh! Just wait till McVety hears about this.

He and his invisible army will be so righteously steamed.

Ooooooooohhhh! I want a ringside seat for that!
    ————-

Several years ago, McVety wanted one million “righteous”
Canadians to go to the office of their local MP and demon-
strate against the course of the government. I believe
he was concerned about same-sex marriage.

Labour Day came and went and hardly a ripple. Here in
Toronto about 40 or 50 demonstrated outside Tom Wappel’s
office and some other MPs got the same treatment. It was
hardly the subject of any newscast or newspaper report.

I wrote McVety and asked him how does a person know if he
is righteous. Naturally, he never replied to that one.
I was hoping he’d tell me that God spoke to him in the
same way as HE spoke to George Bush about Iraq.
By the way, anyone seen Dr. Rondo Thomas recently?

Torontonian – SSM is a dead issue for 99% of Canadians — most of us consider it an equality issue that was rightly fixed, and we’ve all moved on. After such a tepid response to their protests, even the bigots were forced to admit that it’s a done deal.

I’m not surprised you didn’t hear back from Chuckie. Did you remember to put “In Jesus’ name” before you signed the letter? (Although I doubt that would have moved him to answer such a question either… but I would guess that the answer would be “righteous” is code for “homophobic”.)

Mike – 😆 Up next, at my Cafe Press store!

O/T – I broke down and bought a new iMac like yours a couple of months ago… LOVING it! I’m surprised it’s so fast right out of the box, I haven’t even added extra RAM like I did with my other Macs.

Wait. What?
