Me louvvvvve Sarah Palin. America missed out on a great leader.

  2. 2 JJ Friday, September 11, 2009 at 4:42 pm

Bob – You goof! You’re pulling my leg 😆

  3. 3 J. A. Baker Friday, September 11, 2009 at 4:43 pm

I’m almost tempted to call Poe. “Scientology” Palin?!

  4. 4 JJ Friday, September 11, 2009 at 4:50 pm

JAB – I’m kind of wondering that myself, now that I’ve had a better look at this guy’s tweets. I think I might have got Poe’d.

But still — it’s not like there aren’t 10,000 out there just like this one.

  5. 5 Bob Friday, September 11, 2009 at 4:50 pm

No I’m not pulling your leg JJ, we love Sarah Palin. She was thrust onto the National stage and the media expected her to be an expert in international affairs, meanwhile Obama had been preparing for the job for the last 3 years..

She’s one of the regular folk, thats why we love her, nothing phoney about her.

  6. 6 Bob Friday, September 11, 2009 at 4:54 pm

Btw, I noticed there are alot of Canadians on this blog. My Father is french Canadian, he was born in Canada, but when he came to America, he was very proud to be an American.

    Boy, times have changed…

  7. 7 JJ Friday, September 11, 2009 at 4:59 pm

Bob – I hate to tell you this, Bob, but Sawah’s a millionaire in her own right. She’s not one of the “regular folks” at all. She just talks that way.

Frankly, I don’t understand this conservative obsession with having “regular folks” in office — I’d rather have super-intelligent people in office. You guys had a regular folks/millionaire in office for the last 8 years, what did that get you? Two wars, massive debt & deficit, collapsed economy. Regular folks just fuck things up.

BTW, did you bring that nitwit “Linda Athens” over from Stanek’s or something? What a douche.

  8. 8 JJ Friday, September 11, 2009 at 5:02 pm

Bob! Your dad is Quebecois? Right on! What happened to you?

Of course he would be proud to be American, why not? We like Americans 🙂 we just don’t like it when you bash us for no good reason. (Remember 1812…)

  9. 9 Dr. Prole Friday, September 11, 2009 at 5:04 pm

Omg, America dodged a bullet by not electing the Quitbull from the meth capital of Alaska. The woman can’t even speak in coherent sentences! I don’t want “regular folk” running the country, I want the best and brightest! She couldn’t even run a small city without leaving it millions of dollars in debt and threatening to fire the librarian, not to mention the ethics violations! She bailed out on her governorship in the middle of the worst economic crisis since the Depression. Regular folk. Exactly!

  10. 10 Bob Friday, September 11, 2009 at 5:17 pm

I want somebody intelligent as well, but more importantly, I want somebody with good values and judgment. W Bush liberated 40 million people, he had nothing to do the greedy bankers tanking the economy.

Sarah Palin is not stupid. Although you make think she is stupid if you follow the leftist American MSM.

Yes, my Dad is from Quebec (Rimouski)

  11. 11 CK Friday, September 11, 2009 at 5:40 pm

I love how the right proclaim their political hopefuls are ‘regular’ people. What the hell are we? The frickin’ Bourgeoisie??

I live in the province of Quebec & I can tell you, Bob, your dad made a wise choice moving there; you wouldn’t have a hope in hell fitting in this province given it’s mostly left-winged folks here.

Bob, of course Sarah is a bimbo!! C’mon, you forget those French language radio show hosts from Montreal who so easily got a direct line to her, posing as Nicolas Sarkozy?? If she was gunning for the big job, she should have known about even the most minute facts about world leaders; Nicolas Sarkozy doesn’t speak English.

You’re right, Dr. Prole, the U.S. & the rest of the world for that matter dodged a bullet. Fortunately, given the Republican backlash from the McCain/Palin loss, they will never allow her to be a presidential candidate. The furthest she may go is the primaries, but the Republicans will never allow her to win.

JJ, there was a large exodus (or diaspora) of Quebecois to the United States (largely to various parts of New England) from the latter part of the 19th century to the early 20th century. Estimated that as many as 900,000 Quebecois made the move roughly between 1840 to 1930. Number of socio-economic and demographic reasons for it.

It’s referred to as “La Grande Hémorragie” (literally ‘the great hemorrhage’) in Quebec.

The Louisiana Cajuns, who are not of Quebecois origin but descendants of Acadiens from what is present-day Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, are a completely separate historical situation. This one is known as part of “Le Grande Derangement” (aka ‘the great upheaval)and still remains a sore point with many of Acadien ancestry (myself included). There’s never been an official ‘apology’ for what we would recognize today as ‘ethnic cleansing”.

I like this little Cajun essay which probably explains a great deal why I tend to identify more strongly with the Acadien side of my family than with the Quebecois side. Esp. 4th and 5th paragraphs. 😉

HAH! George W Bush liberated WHO, exactly? The Iraqis, who were invaded and continue to be occupied based on LIES? Liberated 40 million my ass, he’s slaughtered hundreds of thousands. What a bunch of BULLSHIT. Or maybe you meant the people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, where their parliament enshrines the right to rape and starve your wife into law, and women are setting themselves on fire in record numbers to escape how terrible their lives are now, with the same problems as before but with the added horror of infinite war?

    You make me sick. Truly.

  14. 14 Dr. Prole Friday, September 11, 2009 at 5:47 pm

Btw, rocket scientist Bob, the reason there’s a lot of Canadians on this blog is that it’s a Canadian blog. Yeesh.

  15. 15 Frank Frink Friday, September 11, 2009 at 5:54 pm

Sarah Palin is not stupid. Although you make think she is stupid if you follow the leftist American MSM.

Bob, she may be clever but she certainly isn’t smart and I don’t have to follow any side’s media to come to that conclusion.

btw – your dad would be bit a rarity. Rimouski isn’t exactly a place that has much use for English-speaking Canada let alone English-speaking United States. It very solid separatiste country.

    Federal riding profile:
“According to the 2006 census, the immigrant population is less than two per cent. Ninety-eight per cent of residents speak French as their mother tongue, while 0.6 per cent speak English. Fourteen per cent of residents over age 25 have a university certificate or degree.”

  16. 16 Frank Frink Friday, September 11, 2009 at 5:58 pm

Dr. Prole, Bob can only absorb, digest and retain information and communication presented to him in the form of distributed talking points.

Anything and everything else is leftist propaganda.

  17. 17 Bob Friday, September 11, 2009 at 6:27 pm

“HAH! George W Bush liberated WHO, exactly? The Iraqis, who were invaded and continue to be occupied based on LIES? Liberated 40 million my ass, he’s slaughtered hundreds of thousands. What a bunch of BULLSHIT.”

No, he didn’t slaughter hundreds of thousands. Iraq is not occupied, it runs itself, if they want U.S. troops to leave they will leave.

    W Bush did not lie.

  18. 18 Dr. Prole Friday, September 11, 2009 at 6:37 pm

    Ohhhh yes. he. did.
I think you live in some kind of alternate reality, Bob. No matter how much you cover your ears and scream “Lalalalalalalala!”, the truth is staring you right in the face.

  19. 19 Frank Frink Friday, September 11, 2009 at 6:47 pm

Dr. Prole, once again this information (i.e facts) you present is not contained in Bob’s distributed talking point. Therefore it is nothing more than leftist propaganda. 😉

  20. 20 Dr. Prole Friday, September 11, 2009 at 6:49 pm

Meh, I figure at this point he craves the abuse. Why else would he be here?

  21. 21 Bob Friday, September 11, 2009 at 7:13 pm

“Why else would he be here?”

    Dr. Prole,

Why only have discussions with people who agree with you? sometimes I like to hear the other side.

  22. 22 Dr. Prole Friday, September 11, 2009 at 7:27 pm

You mean the satanic and evil side?

  23. 23 JJ Friday, September 11, 2009 at 8:28 pm

Hey bobolink – That 30-day prayer assault… was that IMPRECATORY PRAYER?

  24. 24 JJ Friday, September 11, 2009 at 8:33 pm

FF – Thanks for the links, those were very interesting! Or should I say, tres interessant! I like that part about how they managed to have the proletarian utopia… cool that they could manage that, nobody leading, nobody following. Anarchists!

  25. 25 Frank Frink Friday, September 11, 2009 at 10:20 pm

cool that they could manage that, nobody leading, nobody following. Anarchists!

Yep. Can’t have that sort of thing happening. It is quite true though about the self-sufficiency, wanting to stay far away from authority etc… The Acadien side of my family (my Dad’s side) has quite the little history. In short – ethnically cleansed and deported from present day Nova Scotia in both 1755 & 1758. Some sent to Georgia, some to the Carolinas. Weren’t welcome. Wound up being sold into indentured slavery. Escaped and ran off to Massachusetts and eventually deported from there back to France. The French didn’t want them either but they couldn’t return to Acadia. French sent them to St. Pierre (just off Newfoundland). Finally allowed to settle in the Magdalen Islands, but they had been farmers and there was little to no arable land on the islands. Learned to become fisherman instead to survive and lo-and-behold within a couple decades, the Magdalens become a private fiefdom of some British guy and makes them indentured slaves again. They finally hightailed it sometime around 1854 to settle in an extremely remote, isolated, accessible by boat only part of Quebec just so they could be finally out of the reach of any sort of ‘authority’.

The highway finally reached them in 1996. Seriously, in 1996. 😆

I know the feeling. I bet they grew pot in their barns, too 😛

Wait. What?
