Now is the time when we juxtapose

The National Mall in Washington DC on two different occasions:

912inauguration

Okay, that was obviously intended to be a joke because the picture from the teabaggers parade was taken from a different angle, a greater distance, before everyone arrived… or…  um err uh… No, really.

But speaking of interesting juxtapositions, here’s another one:  the teabaggers weren’t the only ones out rallying in that area on Saturday.  A rally called the Black Family Reunion Celebration, which apparently occupied a sizeable portion of the mall, was happening at the same time.

Now that’s juxtapositude.

I wonder how all those black families felt watching a bunch of unsheeted Klukers marching by.

    Amused, I would guess.

Bina – I would imagine they probably gave them a wide “birth”. 😛

There was also some event — marathon, triathlon, dunno — happening on the same day in the same area. Not that anyone would mistake the girthers for athletes. 😉

Given the *ahem* heft of the Beckazoid Teabaggers, they would’ve had to have given them a DOUBLE-WIDE berth. 😆

I wonder why they don’t do the crowd estimate by counting the number of discarded cheeto bags left behind?

JAB – I read somewhere that crowd estimates are done by using a one person per 2.5 square feet formula. I can stand comfortably in the center of 2.5 square feet and have a lot of space around me, but judging by the average teabagger BMI, they’d be packed in like sardines, which they clearly weren’t from the pictures and videos. Yet another reason not to trust some of the higher estimates.

I think this was the jumbo bag of fried pork rinds crowd.

That crowd looks like a “more than one Cheeto bag per person” bunch.

Wait. What?
