Fox News — owned!

This is hilarious.

Fox News took out a full page ad in the Washington Post a couple of days ago, demanding to know why the other networks didn’t cover The Biggest Story Of The Year.

The only problem is, they did cover it.  Fox was just, you know, BULLSHITTING.  But CNN’s Rick Sanchez is having none of it:

It’s a devious and underhand way to draw attention to

It’s the same thing the Gabor sisters and
Liz Taylor used to do. It would be reported
that there was jewellery stolen from ______
    at the _______Hotel in ________.
It was usually tied into a movie premiere or
    appearance on a television show.

So, Fox is doing the same thing and the people
    believe it!

As soon as I hear the name Fox news, my guards
    go up.

Is someone at ClusterFox news getting a bit insecure about being the only 24/7 teabagging and cracker news channel?

Biggest story of the year? LOL
    Bravo Rick.

    Rick. Sanchez. Is. Pissed. Off.

As he should be. I gotta say, no one hates FOX News as much as competing journalists who actually do their jobs.

Rick Sanchez actually says it best when he says they’re ‘covering’ the story rather than ‘promoting’ it.
I think part of the problem with those tea-baggers & Birthers being so ridiculously stupid & violent; why they’re getting away with all of this is that they’re getting way too much press attention. I wonder if they weren’t getting all that attention this too would just pass.
I mean I understand that their mispelled signs & outrageous rhetoric does provide entertainment value, but I just wonder giving them more attention is making life in the U.S. more dangerous

Good on Rick not lying down allowing the Fox news machine steam-roll over him!

    Good morrow, all!
“Obama is a Nazi!” Oh, really?
“Tell a lie big enough, often enough, and the people will believe it.”
    P. T. Barnum? No. Abraham Lincoln? No.
Joseph Goebbels, propoganda minister for the Nazi Party, before and during the Nazi administration in Germany.
Nazi tactics, from people calling other people, “Nazis!”
BTW, the translation of the word is “National Socialist Party.”
To paraphrase Ralph Waldo Emerson: What you do makes me deaf to what you say.

Rick Sanchez is a right-wing douchebag, but every so often even a douchebag comes in handy–like, for rinsing a stubborn lump of crap out of a pipe, for example.

And mang, did CNN ever devote a lot of coverage to this non-event. Four reporters and two fuckin’ trucks, not to mention their “towercam”? Just how much promotion–er, “coverage”–does a piddling nutfest need before FUX Snooze claims it was properly reported?

  8. 8 Ryan Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11:11 am

Rick Sanchez just became my new man crush. OMG.

  9. 9 Cornelius T.Zen Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 1:43 pm

    Good morrow, all!
You know you @#$%!-ed up when a “right wing” newscaster catches you in a lie, a really BIIIIIG lie.
Especially that part where Faux Noise uses a frame capture from
CNN’s own tower cam, just back of the Canadian Embassy.
Punk’d, bust’d n’ pwn’d. No wonder News Corporation is draining Murdoch’s wallet. They’re in the wrong profession. Advertising? Sure. Lobbying? Even better. Political organization? Ummm…let me rephrase that…
We promote. You decide — to ignore us. WAAAAHHHH!

Is it just me or is Rick Sanchez as annoying
    as Fox news is dishonest?

  11. 11 Bina Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 3:44 pm

It’s not just you. He’s annoying.

Like I said: right-wing douchebag, but occasionally useful for flushing the pipes.

Torontonian – OMFG, Fox News are officially Drama Queens!

I wonder when they’ll run a story saying someone stole their jewels? 😛

  13. 13 JJ Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 9:36 pm

Q – Actually, it was me who called it the Biggest Story Of The Year 😛

But I’m sure some of the teabaggers really think so… either that or the way the dastardly DC Metro refused to serve them complimentary Cheetos and fluff up their pillows so they could ride in comfort to the Parade

  14. 14 JJ Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 9:37 pm

Rev. – I’m sure you can well imagine his wrath, if someone did that to you. Hey, I think CNN put out an ad about it, too. They’re PISSED.

Fox News: You Can’t Handle The Truth!

They’re not in the truth business, they’re in the propaganda business, and they do it well.

Speaking of freaky Fox propaganda, I was reading an article on their website yesterday and they still refer to suicide bombings as “homicide” bombings. DUH.

  16. 16 JJ Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 9:41 pm

Bina – I’ve never watched him, I don’t get CNN. This is the only time I’ve ever seen him, and whatever his politics are, I have to say I’m impressed with him. Way to speak truth to bullshit.

  17. 17 JJ Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 9:43 pm

    Ryan – Can’t say I blame you 😉

  18. 18 JJ Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 9:49 pm

CTZen – Fox News is news-ertainment, not news. That’s why the cerebrally-deprived will always watch it… it’s like the “news” as a comic book.

It is a joke in the news industry, though. A few more stunts like this and they might start having problems — as it is, nobody but the terminally stupid takes them seriously.

But the terminally stupid are out there in fairly large numbers!

    This just in:

FUX Snooze caught in the act of whipping up their own astroturf crowd!

I guess, by “covering”, they mean “egging on”! 😆

  20. 20 Frank Frink Monday, September 21, 2009 at 12:41 am

    @Bina – Yep.

Official Fock Snooze line for public consumption:

“The employee is a young, relatively inexperienced associate producer who realizes she made a mistake and has been disciplined,” Bryan Boughton, Fox News Channel Washington Bureau Chief told the Huffington Post.

Shorter version for the non-bugfuck insane:
“We’re sorry. Sorry that Heidi Noonan was caught on camera.”

Wait. What?
