Its odd how this guy is looking up to Beck, almost as if he’s worshiping him! Isn’t that the same kind of bunk that people from his side of the isle suggested the laft winge librhals were doing to obamamessiea? I’m not sure if its just hypocrisy or if they actually are that disconnected cognitively.

There is another demented statement today in National Catholic Reporter regarding the marriage question on the ballot in Maine. Take a look:

    http://ncronline.org/news/politics/maine-same-sex-marriage-catholic-issue

They say it’s a Catholic issue.

That’s funny. I thought it was a Human Rights issue!

The RC Church is clutching at straws to try and stay in the
foreground of America despite its declining media image.

There are only two major sacraments that have Biblical roots
and they are Baptism and Eucharist. The others are rite of
passage: baby naming, coming of age, mating, death rites.
Those four existed even before Scripture and Baptism and
    Eucharist are Biblically based.

So, it’s civil rights then, isn’t it?

Bleatmop – Ew, it was so creepy… the tone of his voice when he said “I’m talking about you, Glenn”… ewwww! Kiss ass much??

And just look at the guy… I hate to be shallow, but why not? 😆 He looks like a sleazy little televangelist.

You are correct in fact even the word marriage never belonged to Christianity. It comes from Latin from the words (after stop overs in French and then Middle English of course) “marītāre (to marry) and marītus (of marriage)”. Hell even the word Matrimony comes from the word Matrimonium.

Those were the words Romans used in regards to marriages, which were a civil matter involving contracts.

So yes it is a Civil matter. They of course don’t want people to know it not a religious word.

Torontonian – Thanks for the link.

That race looks extremely close — I’m worried about it. A lot of people will be hurt if their marriage plans are dashed, to say nothing of those already married who won’t even know where they stand.

Another one like this is going on in Washington state — I hear the goddamn commercials from the anti-equality side all the time, very sad 😦

It’s a civil rights issue, absolutely. Only a rabid bigot wouldn’t see that.

Shade – Marriage has always been a contract between 2 people, like any other contract. That’s another reason why the crazed fearmongering around marriage equality is so lame — ie. people marrying dogs, or kids, or whatever. A person has to be age of consent and they have to be able to agree to the contract. So simple that some people can’t grasp it.

Wait. What?
