That was quick

Did I call it or did I call it?  Well really, who couldn’t have called this one?

In what will come as absolutely no surprise to anyone except the brainless rubes who’ve been donating big wads of cash to “SarahPac” in the hopes that she runs for President in 2012, Sarah Palin has joined Fox News as a regular contributor:

Sarah Palin has signed a multi-year deal with Fox News, reports a New York Times website.

The conservative lightning rod and former governor of Alaska will not have her own show, but will instead host an unspecified occasional series that will run on the network “from time to time,” according to the Times‘s Media Decoder website.

In addition, the Washington Post is reporting that Palin will also appear “as a commentator on various Fox News shows.”

Okay, I predicted she’d have her own show, rather than an “unspecified occasional series” or be a “commentator on various Fox News shows”.   Details!  (I also said 2012, which is 2 years away. )

Although this Fox deal doesn’t absolutely rule out the possibility of her running for some kind of High Office in 2012, “a multi-year deal” doesn’t sound like that’s what’s on her agenda.  Bummer.

I guess we’ll see what she has to say on Facebook!  Also.

Things were getting awfully hot in the Republican kitchen and so $arah got out.

A multi-year FAUXNews hosting gig? Not bad, considering the last job she held in broadcasting required she read sporting competition results, right?

DBO: Numbers are HARD! All she has to do with the new gig, is sit there, nod, and “Well doncha know…” *sign*

Anybody know how much this moron is getting?

I’m still pulling for the Sarah Palin Variety Hour.

Btw, welcome back JJ. Glad you’re healthy again (I’m assuming).

    As Joan Rivers would say:

“There’s a word for a woman who sells out like that
    and the word is “Tramp”.

I’ve always see nothing but a money grubbing and greedy
    gold digging shrill passes-as-a-female bitch.

Everything that comes her way, she truly deserves.

As the fortune cookie says:”May you live in interesting times”.

deBeauxOs – I actually thought she might also go for Michael Steele’s job. He must be breathing a sigh of relief today.

SQ – The financial arrangements were not disclosed, but they’re definitely paying her.

Can’t say I blame her — politics is thankless work, someone always hates your guts. TV pays better and for the most part is out of the line of fire. Sarah can blither away all she wants and nobody will really care that much, other than to say “OMG, this could have been one heartbeat away from the presidency”.

Bleatmop – Thank you. I’m about 90% today, which is good enough after last week!

Torontonian – She’s definitely an opportunist, but why not. She must know that she’s not up to politics on a national level, and working in TV is so much more interesting, lucrative and less of a hassle. Might as well strike while the iron is hot and she’s still popular.

It probably means she won’t be running for any significant office for the foreseeable future, which is too bad. I was really hoping she’d run for president 😆

Yabbut, if somebody offered her a better gig, she’d be outta there in a Wasilla minute. 😉

On one level I’m looking forward to her first couple of shows, on another I know that if I actually make it through her first couple of shows it’s probably a sign that I need help.

  11. 11 JJ Monday, January 11, 2010 at 7:39 pm

fern hill – I can’t imagine a better gig for her. It’s Fox, so she doesn’t have to worry about that lying problem of hers — they all do it!

I think she may have found her calling!

stageleft – Ha, how true. I’m looking forward to seeing it also — once. But that’s it! 😯

No way she’d do that. Not enough money, too much work.

deBeauxOs – True, it would be a lot of work. I think she’d be good at it though, if she wanted to buckle down and do the work — she’d probably be a better fundraiser than Steele.

However, she’s got a better gig now, Steele can rest easy 😆

” . . .if she wanted to buckle down and do the work . . .”
    —–
Trouble is she expects everyone to wait on her hand and foot.
Moreover, would she have the tools to make important calls or do deep background research? Or would she be more concerned
about a manicure and co-ordinating her wardrobe for the
    telecast?

I don’t expect any heavy lifting on her part. She’ll have
grunts and toadies do all the spadework.

How much you want to bet she’ll be gone before Labour Day?

She has a short attention span and something else will come along just like another car does to the neighbour’s terrier.
Yap, yap, yap. Quit and move on.

Torontonian – Deep background research 😆 This is someone who didn’t even know why there was a North and South Korea, and couldn’t be bothered to educate herself prior to running for VP 😯 So I’m sure she’ll feel even less inclined to do so for a job as a Fox News gasbag.

Wait. What?
