I’m sure it will come as a great relief to the 275 workers they laid off last year due to “declining donations” (translation: too much money poured into Prop8) that Focus on the Family will be spending upwards of $5mil for two(2) 30 second spots praising either bigotry, forced childbirth or the joys of theocracy (maybe all three!) in the Superbowl:

Things must have changed since the year CBS rejected commercials from both MoveOn.org and PETA on the grounds that they were “advocacy ads”. Oh wait — they were advocacy ads that CBS didn’t agree with. Big diff!

I’ve never got why advocacy ads were not allowed during the superbowl. In the high holy land of capitalism, shouldn’t anyone with enough with enough money be able to place a legal ad during the superbowl? I mean, that censorship is what commiesociofascists do, isn’t it?

Please everyone email CBS and let them know you are not happy about this decision. I have alreday done so. In addition contact moveon.org and ask them to email their members asking them to contact CBS and voice their opinion. MOVEON.ORG has a massive mailing list. They also have the power to quickly create an online petition for their membvers to sign and then deliver to the CBS network.
Henry Hobson – We’re mostly Canadians so I’m not sure how much drag we’d have with CBS — the commercial won’t even run on the simulcast up here. But great idea for all you USians.
I’m thinking about going one step further and filing an FCC complaint, because frankly, I just don’t see CBS responding to thousands of complaints from mere liberals.

You say that the Focus on the family org promotes hate without any explanation as to why you say this. I would be interested in hearing a coherent explanation as to why the ad should not be shown and not personal attacks on individuals. This leads me to conclude that you lack the understanding and capacity to mount successful arguments. By the way, what standard do you use to accept or reject something? Anybody wanna guess how likely it is that Focus on the Fetus’s Superbowl ad will mention this? Or that abortion is illegal in the Philippines?
