Damn… Bear season started early this year.

I was getting off a bus when the horns started honking and people started screaming, and I knew we’d won the game. The thought went through my mind that it would’a been a nice cap for Niedermayer’s career if he’d scored the winning goal in overtime for the gold.

But noooooo…it had to be Sid the Kid. *sigh* Oh, well.

Bleatmop – Never mind the bears, what about the

Janus – You managed to get around in that mad house, eh? I saw the pics of Vancouver, it was apeshit for hours. Wooooooooo!

I wasn’t in Vancouver. I was actually about as far away from Vancouver as I could get — Maple Ridge — and still be considered to be in the Lower Mainland. That’s almost as far away as Transit will take me.

And whaddaya mean, apeshit for “hours?” It was days! Seven-bloody-teen of ’em! πŸ˜†

Really 😯 The streets were full of people for the whole time? Wow. People living in Van must be glad it’s over.

The comments there are good. I liked the one about naming every child — male or female — born in the next six weeks Sidney. I betcha there will be many Sidneys hitting kindergarten in about 4-5 years.

When I was a kid it was Peters and Deborahs. There were always at least two of each in my classes. I never thought to wonder what team Peter and Deborah played for. πŸ˜‰

    Fern,

It was Deborah Ann Scott and Peter Puck, I think.

Yes, all seventeen night, and since, as I commented yesterday, I live right by the designated ‘party central’ I can attest it was seventeen very long nights.

People living in Van must be glad it’s over.

    This one is.

I have a friend who’s a dispatcher for 911. One day off since the thing started, and he is FRIED. They set records for being busy and then broke them and reset them.

fern hill – Fortunately Sidney is a unisexual name that can be used for boys, girls or anything else. I might rename my dog Sidney, since it sounds so close to her real name, “Sitka”.

FF – It’s funny, for awhile all I heard was that the streets were empty and the Olympics were a big dud. Different story now, eh? Maybe it picked up momentum as things progressed… certainly the hockey tournament would have helped.

    I hope you’re finally getting a good night’s sleep! πŸ˜†

Janus – Yeah, the alcohol factor would definitely lead to an upswing in people stumbling around and injuring themselves. The ambulance drivers must have gotten a lot of OT in.

Wait. What?
