Wasn’t Senilitor Mike Duffy one of the air-thingies?

Lulz. This was like totally the best show ever. I could have watched it all night and stuff man… and I totally did!!

(as a result of being trapped at my in-laws and not having anything else to do)

Despite his claims of being a champion, those moose were too svelte to be an air Duffy.

The thing that was my Beavis & Butthead moment were the giant beavers with the huge “made in canada” stamp…on the back of their tails.

Are those balloons going to be recycled for use at Canada Day celebrations across the country? Because there is some mileage there.

Comparing that to the Russian presentation, all I could think was “why so serious?” Then I remembered Putin is reputedly very very grumpy that the Russians haven’t powerhoused at these Games. Which makes me wonder what *their* funding is like since the days of the Soviet Union prioritizing the needs of athletes.

Also, on a more serious note, what are the odds the Conservatives are going to make a poison pill budget, but include in it the one bright spot of more athletic funding to make up for the cutback in private funding, just so they can accuse the opposition of not supporting Canada’s athletes when it’s voted down?

By order of fabulousness, closing day moments:

    Sidney Crosby’s goal.
    Neil Young.
    GIANT INFLATED BEAVERS.

The beavers were very close to edging out Neil.

Skinny Dip – Whoa, a floating Duffy. That’s something you’d see after doing the Brown Acid 😯 Quick, to the medical tent.

Bleatmop – Great closing ceremonies? Or the GREATEST closing ceremonies??? 😆

You’re starting to think like Stephen Harper 😯 I’d be willing to bet that’s exactly what they do.

valiantmauz – I’m conflicted over the giant beavers and Neil Young also, but no doubt the greatest moment of awesomeness was Crosby’s goal. There was beer flying all over the place!

JJ – Hahaha… Well at least someone reads my tweets.

As NBC’s <a href="http://www.tvsquad.com/2010/03/01/costas-closes-olympics-with-the-always-enjoyable-giant-inflatab/"Bob Costas quipped, “the Always Enjoyable Giant Inflatable Beaver”

Expect that will become a huge internet meme.

    Erm… let’s try that again.

I want a giant inflatable beaver! I want to put it on my front lawn. It takes a lot to make an impression in my hood, and it would be so much easier to tell cabbies where to stop the car.

Oh wait, there’s enough hookers on my street that telling them to look for beaver might not have the result I was hoping for.

JJ: Take that back. Take that back right now. Just because I find it easy to think what the lowest possible smarminess would be and then apply it to the Conservatives doesn’t mean I …I…

…I’m going to have some Balvenie signature cask and a lay down and forget you said that…

what the hell? is that really what the closing looked like? that’s some fucked up shit.

  15. 15 JJ Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 2:05 pm

psa – Hahahaha! It looked even worse than that… giant inflatable mounties, guys with canoes, hockey players… every Canadian stereotype you could think of, present and accounted for.

Wait. What?
