Slap Into Action

Well well well!

Mark at the Slap decided to turn over some rocks and see what kind of tax-exempt slime lurked beneath, and look what he found.

This is a great opportunity, not only to correct the kind of bogus charity scam that most of us don’t want to see supported by our hard-earned tax dollars, but to vent some well-deserved hostility towards all things bigoted, stupid and wrong, starting with the vicious dingbats at “Exodus Global Alliance“.

If these rabid born-again geeks claim they have the power to “cure”, shouldn’t they pay their taxes like any other doctor?

Let’s rumble.

Very interesting. I do a Charity Tax Return for a local group and the gov’t is VERY concerned with what the charity does. You have to state, on the return, your purpose….Oh, and it’s available for public viewing. *evil grin* When you go to RevCan’s site and look at the mission statement for these folks, here is what you find:

EDUCATING AND TRAINING IN DEALING WITH ABUSE AND FAMILY ISSUES. DEVELOPING MINISTRIES TO HELP FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS IN PAIN. TEACHING CHURCH GROUPS. SCHOOLS AND YOUTH. HELPING AND TEACHING AT CONFERENCES.

This doesn’t sound like a “cure” for homos! Oh, noes!!! There goes their charitable registration!!! Send a nice letter to RevCanada telling them what they ARE doing as apposed to what they say they are doing. Bye Bye Charitable status!

They can’t very well tell the truth can they? But the rest of us can 🙂

I forgot, what does the bible say about bearing false witness again?

    FWIW, jj

I copied and pasted the letter suggested in Slap Upside The Head with a few comments of my own.

I recall aiding in setting up an environmental association several years ago .. there was a veritable 5th degree of people, documents, activities and supporters that we had to go through to get the status.

How-da-fuck dud these turkeys get through …????

They’re sneaky little devils, I doubt very much that anyone saw it coming at the time. We don’t seem to have the same well connected sleuths in Canada like they do in the US. We knew they were coming, but nobody thought of the tax angle.

I’ll be monitoring the CRA site from now on. Just because Brucie likes to be a bitch.

I wonder if Harper had leaned on the civil
service to approve the C-license since it
    fit into his evangelistic world-view.

Harper has been exercising sway and
    influence over various civil service
elements (as well as the Armed Forces)
and the good people have buckled.

He’s gotten the Kremlin bug and it’s
    spreading.

    I think so, eh? 😆

Bleatmop – They don’t follow that part of the Bible… they cherry pick the parts they like, and those are the ones they follow. I guess everything else is apostasy or something.

    Bruce – We sure can!

You know, I am actually quite shocked that they’d make the cut for charitable status. Doesn’t Revenue Canada check out any of these so called “charities”? Or can just anyone get it? Geeeeeeeez… 🙄

croghan27 – That’s what I did, but I’m working on my own personal letter as well.

Anyone who writes their own letter, Mark is posting them up at his place. His email is at the site.

I rather doubt that, given everything else he’s got going on. I’d be more inclined to think this is just the result of the CRA not checking things out closely enough. Good thing Mark’s around to pick up the slack!

Wait. What?
