He’ll use a golf club… ON PRESIDENT OBAMA’S HEAD IN THE FORM OF IMPEACHMENT ON THE BIRTHER BULLSHIT!

    😆
I’m glad you’ve still got your sense of humour. Nasty night for the Dems — Ouch. Was very disappointed to see Feingold lose 😦

But this could be hilarious: the teabaggers will want their pound of flesh 😆 and the GOP won’t be able to deliver.

What really galls me about the results is that it allows the “librul” media to trot out their favorite talking points:

    – “Librul overreach!”
    – “Tea Party Tsunami!”
    – “Center-right country!”
    – “Democrats were too librul!”

    Where’s my wallbanger smiley?!

    Gavel or golf club?

Neither. It’ll be a martini shaker.

    It’ll be a martini shaker.

    Or a bottle of bronzer.

    Good morrow, all!
Well, it looks like George Hamilton will have to look to his laurels. If Boehner gets any darker, Obama will be calling on him to cut the White House lawn.
Why is it, you suppose, that the bigots that denounce swarthy people want to look darker than them?
God, do the smart thing, and walk away – CTZen

JAB – The Tan Man… will abide!

The tan man was crying last night 😦 probably at the thought of having to explain to the teabaggers why he’ll be voting to raise the debt ceiling in a few months.

CTZen – I only hope that Boner is as vilified as Nancy Pelosi has been for the last year. I’m almost glad to see her out of that job — I worry about her safety.

JAB – Alan Grayson lost?? What a drag, I wouldn’t have seen that coming.

  11. 11 J. A. Baker Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 11:12 am

Yeah, him and Tom Perriello. Remember him? The one whose brother’s gas line was cut by the teabaggers?

Incidentally, JJ, us ‘Murkin libruls are feeling the same way you guys were two years ago (a month before Obama was elected).

There isn’t the slightest chance of that.

I suppose an impeachment might come about if investigations into what the administrations has been up to progress, but Boehner has no plans to initiate impeachment, and he would not move forward with anything associated with the birthers.  Boehner knows very well that, even if it could be proven that Obama is not a natural-born citizen (just for the sake of the argument), there would be no action to be taken based on that.

I only hope that [Boehner] is as vilified as Nancy Pelosi has been for the last year.

If he does as horrible of a job at it as she has, I believe he will be, and worse.

Except she is, in all likelihood, the worst Speaker in the history of the nation.   Boehner will have to do pretty badly to approach her renown.

I trust that, for the sake of us all, he also knows it couldn’t be proven because it isn’t true?

If it were ordinary Republicans, I would say that they wouldn’t impeach because they know that Obama’s been above board on everything. Unfortunately, these are Teabaggers we’re talking about. Facts mean nothing to them, only power does.

If he does as horrible of a job at it as she has, I believe he will be, and worse.

She wasn’t that bad. In fact, she was one of the most effective Speakers in recent history. It’s the Senate that’s the problem because Reid wets his pants every time a Republican frowns at him.

Except she is, in all likelihood, the worst Speaker in the history of the nation.

No, that dubious honor belongs to Dennis “Let’s keep Mark Foley from getting a visit from Chris Hansen” Hastert.

Except she is, in all likelihood, the worst Speaker in the history of the nation.

    How so?

What’s the Speaker’s job description, anyway? Did she fulfill it?

    She’s vilified for 2 reasons:

(1)Generally the Speaker isn’t as high-profile as Pelosi has been because in normal times, there’s bipartisan agreement on most legislative initiatives and the Speaker doesn’t have to run around twisting arms.

(2)She’s an easy target — a “San Francisco Liberal” 😯 … who will turn Your Children gay and force them to smoke pot every day and have an abortion once a year.

    It’s disgusting.

Funny, I don’t remember anyone on the left bitching about the “Hastert/Delay/Bush” agenda. The “Bush/Cheney” agenda for sure, but the speaker and the house majority leader? Geeeeeeeez.

    You can’t be serious.

What has he done to be impeached? Started any wars on false pretenses so him and his buddies could loot the Treasury? Presided over the worst economic cataclysm since the 30s?

Seriously, I disagree with some of Obama’s policies too, but impeachment? Are you for real??

I suspect you might be feeling somewhat worse than that — we at least had the reassurance of knowing it was a minority government and would probably be short-lived (they generally last around 18 months). Of course, had we known it would last over 2 years (and counting), we might have been a bit more dismayed.

Oh well, at any rate, we don’t have any MPs in tricorner hats with teabags hanging from them (yet).

Don’t worry, JJ. I’m sure it’s coming. After all, when the U.S. gets the flu, Canada catches a cold, eh? 😛 😈

I’ve seen what you guys have in the Canadian wingnutosphere. Frankly, I’m not impressed. They’re pikers compared to the teabaggers.

It’s true 😥 Our right-wingnuts are about the same as your blue dog Democrats. We don’t have anything as right wing as the GOP, let alone the baggers. I’m sure there are some out there, but they’re a far smaller minority than the 20% or whatever it is in the USA that identify as teabaggers.

Peter, you’re being silly.   You’re saying essentially “If it could be proven that Obama is not a natural born citizen, Boehner wouldn’t take action because it couldn’t be proven.”   That is a contradictory proposition.

I explicitly said just for the sake of argument.   That means that, for the point being made, it is presumed that the premise IS true.   It does not say that the premise is true (or even that it is possible), but that it is presumed true to see what that situation would result in.

It is pointless to argue against a point being used in this way that the presumption isn’t true;  That is merely missing the point altogether.  The point includes that it must be presumed in the first place because it is not true.

  25. 25 BrianWren Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 2:21 pm

If it were ordinary Republicans, I would say that they wouldn’t impeach because they know that Obama’s been above board on everything.

Investigations ought mot presume the outcome of the investigation prior to the investigating being done.

I’m sure there will be at least some congressional interviews, and those might lead to something more serious. I don’t know that they will. I was only saying that this is the only situation under which I think there might be impeachment moves. I do NOT think there are any plans to try to get impeachment under way. Nor do I think there ought to be. The last thing I want is a president Biden!

What has he done to be impeached?

I didn’t say that he had done anything. I am very suspicious that he may have done some things in the realm of power brokering, and in the area of sidestepping the Senates constitutional role. I think a little looking into those areas is important, mainly because that would bolster the congressional oversight that is supposed to be in place. I recognize that there is a possibility that there might be some real skulduggery there(which is why you have investigations, after all), but I have no certainty that there’s anything amiss there.

Started any wars on false pretenses so him and his buddies could loot the Treasury?

Even if there were a former president who had done this, and it were additionally true that Obama has not, a list of crimes a person has NOT committed does not serve as a defense when charges with crimes other than those that are in that list.

Again, I am not alleging that he has committed any impeachable offenses, and I am not promoting that he ought to be impeached, either. I was saying that the birthers do not have a case, and added as an after thought that that does not mean that it is impossible that there is any case.

Presided over the worst economic cataclysm since the 30s?

Not only presided over, but made it the worst since the 30s through the same kinds of actions FDR took that made the cataclysm of the 30s as bad as it was. But that is not am impeachment issue, even if true.

Seriously, I disagree with some of Obama’s policies too, but impeachment? Are you for real??

Try not to get so spun up. I wasn’t suggesting anything. Look back at what I said, and you will see that that is true.

Wait. What?
