Ottawa cops and Orwell’s vision of the future

Unbelievable! This is a video that shows some Ottawa cops working over Stacy Bonds, the young makeup artist who was on her way home one night a couple of years ago when she had the supreme misfortune to encounter Mr. Policeman, and the temerity to ask why he had stopped and questioned her.   Ms. Bonds ended up getting arrested without cause, strip-searched, tasered, kicked, slapped around and on and on it goes.  All of which would have been unacceptable even if they’d pinched her for something, but she didn’t even do anything and she was by all appearances very compliant at the cop shop.   Out of control fascist assholes:

Vodpod videos no longer available.

(… so let’s give them all our guns.)

Do you think there will really be any accountability over this? Like Dr. Dawg, I’ve little confidence in the SIU.

Maybe a lawsuit is Bonds’, and our, only hope.

thwap – I think there will be DIDDLY in the way of accountability. The State Goon Squad is accountable to No-one 👿

I hope she sues their fascist asses off, and I’ll gladly donate to any defense fund.

    I’m PISSED!

I’m posting a link to this petition everywhere people are talking about this travesty. (I’m being a pest, I know.)

I’m hoping Margaret Atwood will sign it and tweet it. Worked good for Fox News North. 😀

The aim is 10,000 signatures — they’re over 4,000 now and it was around 2,000 yesterday afternoon when I signed. Be great to get tens of thousands of signatures. I mean, what the hell else can we do?

fern hill – Thank you so much for the link! That’s not being a pest at all — you are a conscientious citizen.

I would love to see the petition get as many sigs as possible, ASAP. It might be “just a petition”, but it’s one way we can have our say about this outrage.

Don’t MPs have to bring petitions before parliament? I’m going to phone my MP about this.

Wait. What?
