Vicious Catholic Child Molesters becoming parody of selves

Presumably, the title “Catholic Church Child Safety Co-ordintor” is meant to be reassuring, to inspire confidence in parents and everyone else who’s been watching aghast as the Catholic Church disintegrates into a cesspool of perversion and degradation.  “Catholic Church Child Safety Co-Ordinator”:  what could possibly go wrong?:

A Catholic Church child safety co-ordinator who was in charge of investigating sexual abuse allegations was jailed for 12 months today for internet peadophile offences.

Christopher Jarvis, 49, a married father-of-four, investigated historic claims of child abuse, interviewing the victims when they were adults.

He was responsible for child protection at 120 churches and parish community groups for nine years.

Just a friendly word of advice to rank-and-file Catholics:  when news stories about your organization start looking like they came out of the Onion, it might be time to find a new organization.

jesusfuckingchrist. Way, way too much coincidence. I’m starting to wonder if the fucking church looks for people sympathetic to pedophilia – thus increasing chances of recruiting them – to take on these oversight and investigative tasks.

anyone that still goes to the Catholic Church, needs more than spiritual help. They need some mental help.

    From here (my emphasis):

More than 100 reports in the scientific and professional literature, involving more than 35,000 subjects, indicate that rapists, child molesters, incestuous parents, and sexually motivated murderers are typically very conservative in their sexual and social values and sometimes more religious than average—suggesting that in many cases traditional sexual morality is a contributing factor in sexual abuse rather than a deterrent. At the First International Conference on the Treatment of Sex Offenders in 1989, there was broad agreement that Western societies with repressive sexual attitudes and traditional male/female roles are more likely to have high rates of all forms of sex crimes.

Based on the above, I’m not surprised by the existence of sexual abuse scandals in the RCC. I am also rather disturbed by fetus fetishists opposition to abortion exceptions for rape and incest.

My brain blew up and only now has finally reformed after first reading this post. I know I shouldn’t be surprised that the RCC is involved in yet another child abuse scandal, but the details of this one just blow my mind. They put a pedophile in charge of investigating child abuse charges. GAH!

Fuck religion and the special status it gets in society. Only a religious institution like the RCC could commit so many crimes against humanity, so many crimes against the children of all the nations in the world, and still not only be allowed to exist and operate as normal, but continue to have influence and power. I mean this guy had privileged information from social work and police!!! Did he get his jollies off reading their dossiers and listening to their testimonials?

    Pure evil.

In spite of it all, I still find it hard to believe that there’s a Pedophile Conspiracy in the church… but I can see why people might be suspicious. I wouldn’t leave my kids with them.

Yeah… I wouldn’t belong to a book club or a sports team that enabled and covered up for pedophilia, so I don’t understand why people would cling to a church that does it. After a point, they’d have to admit that they really don’t care about those kids that much.

    Interesting document, thanks.
And no surprise, as you say. I’ve noticed that whenever I see a news item about someone who gets caught doing some weird sexual thing, it almost invariably turns out to be one of these self-righteous, “morals and values” ultraconservatives. It’s almost like they know they have these urges, so their way of dealing with them is to become as extremely right-wing as it’s possible to get so nobody would ever guess. Until they get caught, that is.

    {{{shudder}}} One hates to imagine.

Wait. What?
