Reproductive McCarthyism and a new nadir of authoritarian dumbness

Frankly, it didn’t surprise me a bit that SUZANNE would be All In with the idea of publishing a database of personal information and photos of gynecologists and other reproductive health professionals whose services include — but are not limited to — abortion. How awesome she must imagine it would feel to stand before the trembling masses of healthcare providers and the women they serve, and say:

“I have here in my hand a list…”

After all, SUZANNE is among those who greeted the assassination of Dr. George Tiller with dramatic fluttery sighs and flaccid exhortations against violence after years spent vilifying and demonizing the man, to the unsurprising end that he was murdered by one of their more zealous fellow travellers.  Not a Hit List?  Pull the other one.

But as she struggled feverishly to rationalize what is clearly and undeniably nothing more than an anti-abortion Hit List, she crossed a Rubicon of Authoritarian Madness that even surprised me.  From the comments at her blog (which is unlinkable due to her sophomoric habit of redirecting links to fetus pron):

“They might in the future”??

It’s difficult to know how to respond to that without perpetuating Godwin’s Law.

When the wind is right, is a faint odour of kerosene exhaled from SUZANNE?

Very super-terrifying, not just for doctors but for anyone with a functional uterus and a normal sex life.

My daughter is an anaesthetist, and she’s provided medication in a hospital setting to women who have had abortions in the first, second or third trimester of their pregnancies.

Someone might rat her out to SUZANNE’s hit list.

For sure. And nurses and clinic escorts and all the other health care workers that are employed by womens’ health clinics.

What do they want this list for anyway? How is it helping anyone? What scum.

For someone who’s ostensibly a Conservative, or so you’d think, SUZANNE certainly copies markedly Liberal behavior. Creating a list of “potential criminals” eh? Remind you of anything JJ?

And just like that other list of potential criminals, the irony is completely wasted on SUZANNE that what she’s really doing is providing a “one-stop-shop” searchable database for anyone looking to find say, an abortion provider.

And just like that other list, it will make it easier for real criminals to target the innocent.

Just a harmless registry, fhg, nothing to worry about…

So fhg, do you have any proof that the long gun registry was going to be used as a “hit list”? After all, we have instances of similar lists of abortion providers apparently used as hit lists.

    It already has been.

    To name a few?

    Armi Jager AP-80. Norinco Type 97. High Standard Model 10B. Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22. Walther G22.

In October, journalist Glenn McGregor made the contents of the database available on the Internet.

How much more proof are you going to need exactly?

This should be the final nail in the albatross’ cofin. Sadly, the Truduthulu and his zombie party have turned it into a zombie albatross. They and it just won’t die…

Just curious, fhg. Are you contending that owners of guns are being targeted for assassination? Because otherwise your analogy doesn’t make any sense.

In fairness to you, however, Trudeau Solicitor-General Jean-Pierre Goyer “extra-parliamentary opposition” list would have been a more persuasive example:,2485254

Not assassination. I was referring to SUZANNE’s comment about criminals, and how abortion providers may become criminals. That, I contend is exactly what the firearms act has done, and I have considerable evidence.

Some firearms owners have undoubtedly been the target of criminals, doubly damning the firearms registry, because firearms owners risk victimization at the hands of both the state, and criminals.

On a related matter, sex-selective abortions have been making the news lately.

    For example:

Gah. How the bloody hell are we going to justify passing a law that says that you can terminate your pregnancy for any other reason whatsoever, but if you’re doing it only because you have a girl, and wanted a boy, or vice-versa, then you can’t do that. How is anybody going to know what the reason is? What business is it of the state? And why would we want to do something so stupid? As JJ and others would say, the debate is over, and this should be the end of it, period, fullstop.

    Fuck this statist bullshit!

I swear, every day that goes by, is another day that freedom and liberty become increasingly scarce commodities. And we think that there’s going to be a shortage of oil…

Ha, good point. When did we pass Peak Liberty?

As for the so called controversy over sex-selection abortion, the bottom line is that its nobody’s business but the woman involved. I don’t care what her reason is: it’s her decision to make and hers alone. My “opinion” is irrelevant.

I don’t care what her reason is: it’s her decision to make and hers alone. My “opinion” is irrelevant.

It’s the same inane “logic” as ascribing “meaning” or “purpose” to certain kinds of guns because of how they look. And it’s f@*!ing asinine! I’m sorry, but nobody minds enough that government is in our wallets, in women’s wombs, in our thoughts, in our mouths, in everything! I can’t figure out why only a handful of us are sick to death of it, it gets worse all the god-damned time, and nobody ever wants to DO anything about it. Nobody seems to realize just how dangerous this is getting for freedom, and liberty. I knew about this shit, but it should scare the living shit out of everybody who gives a damn about our civil liberties:

Sorry, little peeved. For a few reasons. I think I’ve had quite enough government intrusion in everything, and the suggestion that we need to tolerate one iota more is the most ridiculous thing I can possibly imagine, and whoever suggests such a moronic thing should be sterilized for the good of the species.

When are we going to learn to mind our own f*@#ing business!? God, they make me so mad…

Wait. What?
