What’s wrong with this picture?

Propaganda from the “Canadian Center for Bioethical Reform” — the fetus-obsessed dingbats who cruise Calgary and beyond in their notorious Fetusmobiles — is typically a deranged orgy of fetus porn and pure steaming bullshit.  But sometimes it’s so unintentionally hilarious that it’s worthy of being published in the Onion.

Following this week’s news of the death-by-fetus-fetishizing of Savita Halappanavar, a CCBR video is making the rounds as antichoicers feverishly try to defend the indefensible.  The video talks about how doctors can avoid doing their jobs abortions even when the pregnant woman’s life is in danger (because really, like, who cares…?).  A few seconds into it, I burst out laughing and took a quick screencap:

Yes, it’s the CCBR’s unhinged Stephanie Gray, an Expert in the Field of Fetus Fetishizing, and — HELLO!!  A stethoscope and lab coat hanging pointedly from a doorknob??  What’s up with THAT?

Presumably Dr. Demento there, with her BA in PoliSci, wants to come across as possessing a credibility she hasn’t even come close to dreaming of earning, and how better to do it than casually hang a lab coat somewhere, as if she’s just taken it off after a long day of Doctorizing?  I’m surprised she didn’t wear scrubs, since they can be picked up at any thrift store for a buck or 2.

What next from these bullshitting bullshitters?  Try to pass off The Fetusmobile©®™

as an ambulance?

Well, isn’t that special? Who could it be…S A T A N???? With the folded hands, she looks just like Church Lady

BTW…She’s not a doctor, she just plays a self-righteous one on the Internet.

Is there a special road so that they can drive their fetusmobile up to the top of bullshit mountain.

    And sanctimonious?!?!

Stephanie has perfected the pursed-and-prissy-lipped delivery of antiChoice gloominaries like Margaret Somerville.

I once saw a debate between my old philosophy professor, Jan Narveson, and Stephanie Grey.

This was years ago, but I’ll never forget it. The debate was organized by one of the anti-abortion groups at the University of Waterloo, so the audience was very hostile to Narveson. But the guy doesn’t care what anyone thinks of him, and even seemed to enjoy tweaking the noses of the spectators.

Grey’s opening statement was a video of an abortion. Lots of blood. Fetus parts. Etc.

When it was Narveson’s turn to speak, he gave a wry smile and said: “Well! That was messy, wasn’t it? And what was the point of showing that?”

Grey: “To show the inhumanity of abortion.”

Narveson: “Humph. Hm. Well, open heart surgery is pretty gross. Is it also inhumane?”

Then he spent the rest of the debate asking her if she “ate cow,” and specifically if she’d eaten a hamburger on the way to the campus. Cattle slaughter also being pretty messy, after all.

I don’t claim that his argument was philosophically rigorous, but Grey’s propaganda didn’t — and doesn’t — deserve a rigorous response. It seems she’s only gotten worse over the years.

And she never did tell us if she’d eaten that hamburger. I thought the audience was going to start throwing things at him.

    Yo.
So sorry you guys… last fall I had a bit of a Major Depression episode (my bipolar gave me whiplash) and the last few months have been a blur of crisis clinics, hospitals, doctors, counsellors yada yada yada.
The good news is I’m getting better, in a fragile sort of way.
    Love ya
    xxxooo

“You see, but you do not observe,” the great literary detective Sherlock Holmes once said. Being observant means watching everything around you (people, situations, events, etc.) and then thinking critically about what you’ve just seen. Observation skills are very important in our everyday lives as they enhance our ability to interact with others and to respond to the world in an appropriate manner.

At Bright Side, we have prepared illustrations for you that will challenge your observational skills!

Our artist intentionally made one mistake in each of the following pictures. Can you find them?
