Deranged preacher sorry for violent rhetoric

“Pastor” Steven Andebaptist-pastor-steve-andersonrson of Batshittery, Arizona, is extremely remorseful for firing up any unhinged members of his congregation with hate sermons about Barack Obama.  No, really.   Err, what?

In related future news, Anderson will strongly denounce any actual violence that occurs when some deranged nutbar takes his rhetoric to heart and takes things to the next level.  You know it’s coming.

The pope’s Christmas message

pedophile-priestsWho gives a shit what Pope Ratzi says? Not I.

I do however take great pleasure in pointing out the scrumptious irony in some of his more ludicrous outbursts, such as his Christmas message calling for an end to child abuse:

Pope Benedict, celebrating the fourth Christmas of his pontificate, spoke out against the abuse of minors, ranging from parents who abandon their children to armed groups that recruit child soldiers.

Huh — “from parents who abandon their children to armed groups that recruit child soldiers” — do altar boy-diddling priests fit in there somewhere? Not if this blast from the past is any indication:

The accusers say Vatican-based Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, who heads the Vatican office to safeguard the faith and the morals of the church, quietly made the lawsuit go away and shelved it. There was no investigation and the accusers weren’t asked a single question or asked for a statement.

He was appointed by the pope to investigate the entire sex abuse scandal in the church in recent days. But when approached by ABCNEWS in Rome last week with questions of allegations against Maciel, Ratzinger became visibly upset and actually slapped this reporter’s hand.

Slapped the reporter’s hand? That’s what those poor altar boys should have done to the predator-priests, slapped their wandering hands and then kicked their pedophile asses all the way back to Vatican City.

Oh well. Maybe next Christmas Ratzi will get around to calling for an end to child sexual abuse, and apologizing for his part in enabling so much of it.

But I doubt it.
