It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No! It’s… SUPER-FETUS!:
The controversy over President Obama speaking at Notre Dame’s Commencement has taken to the skies.
At around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, I heard the droning noise of a small plane and looked out my window to see one flying low over campus. It carried a banner behind it featuring a picture of an aborted fetus and words, in bold white letters, that described it as a 10 week abortion. The plane circled the boundaries of campus for at least two-and-a-half hours.
Earlier in the day, I had seen a press release from The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform (CBR), an anti-abortion activist group, that threatened to fly banners over campus and drive billboard trucks around featuring abortion photos on the side.
Oh, fuck. It’s them again, the “Center for Bio-Ethical Reform”, also know as “the Wankers That Cruise Around in the Fetusmobile©” — now they’ve blasted off into the Wild Blue Yonder to protest President Obama’s speaking engagement at Notre Dame. Time to get an anti-aircraft paintball gun!
But never mind that. The all-important issue is what to call this new mobile fetus freighter. Air Fetus? Trans-Fetus Airlines?
Keep up the good work, fetus fetishists. I may never stop laughing.
HAHAHAHAHA! Air Fetus.
I wonder if anyone has ever totted up how much dough those dough-heads waste on stunts like this. It would probably fund many school breakfast programs or something like that that would benefit actual post-born children.
fern hill – Those planes don’t come cheap, somebody’s got deep pockets. And yes, I also wonder how many real kids could have benefited from the money they blow on idiotic shit like this. “Pre-born you’re fine, pre-school you’re fucked”.
Do you know if there’s any connection to the Canadian Centre for Bio-ethical Reform there?
I like “Air Fetus”. The name for the stunt, not the message being delivered.
Cost – In the New York area you can get a company to make the banner and fly it a few times around your chosen location for $ 590.00 (US).

Now if you are going to circle for “at least two-and-a-half hours” I’d say it would cost you between $ 1000.00 and $1,500.00. That would put a lot of canned goods and pasta on the shelf of any food bank.
Rev Dave – I would think there’s a connection, (but I don’t know for sure) — however, they use identical graphics, banners, the same “Genocide Awareness Project” display they drag around to the college campuses, and the Calgary CBR has at least one Fetusmobile.
Willy – Wow, no kidding eh? $1500? And the actual commencement ceremony where Obama is speaking isn’t until May 17th, so presumably they’ll be spending a lot more money over the next 18 days… it could run well over $20K if they were to do this for 2 hours a day, every day til the commencement. Who’s got the deep pockets, I wonder.
Counting down until Gingi the Unhingied calls for Air Fetus to be flown into the podium where Obama is speaking in 5…4…3…2…1…
JAB – 😆 Yes, I can just imagine her blog post on it the next day… “I don’t want to turn this tragic event into some creepy I told you so moment, but… I WILL ANYWAY!”.
If ‘Air Fetus’ is going to fly daily for 18 days the costs are going to add up, as you say JJ.
Upon closer examination of the banner in the picture I have to guess that is a non-standard size. Based on the size of the plane the banner looks to be maybe 15 feet high. That is twice the height of the banners offered by the company I linked to. That’s goin’ cost ya extra. Possibly more for the plane also as you may need a bigger one to tow a banner that size.
Deep pockets could have done better by air dropping rubbers ( Environmental idiocy I know ) but still money better spent.
Willy – Thanks for the info. Money is obviously no object to the “Center for Bio-Ethical Reform”. Makes ya wonder, don’t it.
Heh. JJ, you quoted my favorite philosopher! 😆
And it gets worse:
We’ve seen this pattern in wingnuts before. Gingi the Unhingied has nothing on the very reverend John Hagee or the very reverend Bill Shanks. (Original Rev. Shanks link at Agape Press got 404’d…gee, I wonder why…)
