Why do liberals want America to fail? Uh… pardon?:
It’s not often that conservatives celebrate the U.S. losing out to countries like Brazil and Spain, especially not when the loss involves a prominent event like the Summer Olympics. But when the International Olympic Committee eliminated Chicago as a potential host for the 2016 games in the first round of voting on Friday, the right broke out the champagne.
A year ago, a conservative Republican president told Chicago, “This country supports your bid, strongly.” That was then, before the right decided their hatred for the president’s hometown was more important than anything else.
Remember, in 2005, when New York was eliminated as a host city for the 2012 Olympics, and liberals everywhere giggled like children and mocked the Bush administration?
Oh wait, that didn’t happen.
On the upside, if I was working on advertising for the Democrats’ midterm campaign, I’d be rubbing my hands together with glee.

In the wingnut mind, the loss of the Olympics somehow translates to mean “the World Hates Obama”… even though the decisions made by the IOC has more to do with whose “turn” it is. (Yes, everyone goes through the motions of making a bid, but that’s not all that influences the decision.)
Funny how it wasn’t a big failure on Bush’s part when New York didn’t win the games… but of course, that was before the GOP snapped and spiraled into mental illness.
I just hope the Dems make hay out of this.
